Better Than Expected!!
I did a ton of research before making the decision to purchase the LD Systems Icoa 18a subwoofer. Iplay in a variety cover band and we need to have solid low freq to drive the bottom end for the dance floor. This does the job very well by itself! I would love to have two of these, but just don’t have room in my vehicle for a second one. I have played with the gain levels and kept a close eye out for peaking, but did not get there even at incredibly high volumes. I was astonished by the clean low end this sub gets down to! 29Hz! And you can definitely hear it. The sub is an absolute must if you want clean deep bass for low-freq reinforcement for your band or DJ rig. Thanks to LD Systems for creating such a fine subwoofer!

It's not what everyone says that it is.
Our of the box it had some damage, the box was clean. The paint is cheap and it makes a little rattle when is playing. I put them next to my Yorkvilles and they they just can't compete. My Yorkvilles sound 2.5 louder than the LD. I paid over a thousand dollars and they just can't compete. They sound the same as the $400 Rockville. So disappointed. For that price get something else. The original cover for it is so big that the speaker is swimming in there. Another negative is that it doesn't come with weals.

Excellent low end!
I have two and the cardioid mode is terrific! It makes it extra loud in front of the subs, but kills the bass behind the subs, making it not so punishing to be behind them. They are big and heavy, but they are so worth the money!

WOW !
Dont sleep on these bass killerz! Holy smokes! They really hit Deep and out perform all the others in this price range! The only issue is the weight and size. I use a wood ramp to slide it up and down from the truck. Well worth it!

Big Bang for the Buck
I ordered 2 of these subs on a whim. I needed a pair quick for an upcoming gig where space would be limited for using my passive subs and amp rack. I have been wanting a powered pair of subs and had my eyes on the QSC KS118's, however, the price for a pair of those were doubled. With fingers crossed, I put these subs in my cart and checked out. They arrived 2 days later and I was impressed when unboxing them. They look sleek and stylish, yet well built. I set the subs crossover to handle frequencies below 100 Hz, allowing my tops to work light duty. I played a bass-heavy song as a test and dialed the subs back to -20db. They kicked out the bass and were no where close to the limit mark. I went as far as -5db and had plenty of bass for most events. I think -10db on these subs will be my sweet spot. They are marketed to be 2400 watts with RMS at 600w, which is why I was skeptical. However, they punch hard. I haven't tried them in cardioid mode, nor have I taken them to a gig yet. If they hold up and keep playing without any issues, I think these subs will exceed my expectations I had for them. Only time will tell. If I had to be nit-picky and find a Con about these subs, it would be the wheel option. These subs come with the bolts installed where you can add optional caster wheels. I went to several hardware stores and Harbor Freight looking for wheels. The issue is with the wheel plates. None of the bolt holes (spacing), match the wheels that are available. So I have 2 choices at this point. Either buy 18" dollies to sat them on, or machine a metal plate aligned with the speaker holes and mount the wheels to the plate, then plate to the subs. That said, I am pleased with the purchase thus far.
