If you put the Grease Gone into your grease trap (or down the kitchen sink which feeds into the grease trap) at night it will be fine to use your dishwasher in the morning. It is the high temperature that most dishwashers operate at that kills off the beneficial bacteria in Grease Gone.

Grease Gone will turn over 75% of fat oil and grease to water. One sachet treats 270 gallons, but time will depend whether the greasy water is in a tank or in pipework. In a grease trap it should take up to 5 days - in pipework it will take longer to travel the length of pipe.

Grease Gone is not a tablet. It is a water soluble sachet the size of a tea bag. I suggest putting it into about a litre of warm baby bath temperature temperature water, stir and leave for 1 hour, then stir again. It doesn't matter if it is cold when you use it. You can either put it down the kitchen sink or straight into your sump pump drain. The whole of the material does not dissolve before use, it is a waste paper crumb which will dissipate in the sump pump. Grease Gone will turn over 75% of the fat oil and grease to water and remove most of the smell.
