Shhh... don't say this loud... I've been buying the -gulp- ground coffee. Not doing my own griding at home.Truth is that I'm not happy with our grinder and I want a new grinder but it runs $800, or more.. so I guess I'll wait for the sales... so in the meantime I bought some Lilly ground espresso. I've bought their moka pot grinds before when on trips and they have never let me down with a good, satisfying drink.So, I decided to buy the ground espressos. I've bought both the Classico and the Intenso. 240 grams yields about 12 double shots.. so it's rather pricey but we go through that in three days.... hmm... so the coffee NEVER goes stale on us.The Classico has a real nice smoothness, with a touch of bitterness the Intenso add more a bite to it.My wife drinks it on ice.. and she prefers the Intenso. My daughter does it straight and sometime in lattes (then who cares, huh?)... I do a classic double shot.Either way, I really like it. But long term this habit is gonna cost 22 bucks a week... hmm... in the meantime, if you want a good espresso, have a good machine to use it ( E61 grouphead is mandatory IMHO ) and don't want to play with the grinder... this will yield a good cup everytime.I can't say how it will age when the can is opened... but for four days it keeps quite fresh.

I love this coffee. The retailer never disappoints and gets to me right away. This intenso flavor is my favorite. I like a robust coffee that’s smooth. Starbucks is too strong for me so if you relate, try this coffee. You get the flavor without the bitterness.

Great coffee, great price, and proper packaging for shipping. Nice to have it preground and in a small enough package that you use it before it goes bad. If you love your espresso maker but hate trying to grind the coffee properly, this is a product for you.

There’s nothing bad to say about Illy Intenso espresso grind. Every can has a seal, and it’s glorious coffee. Intenso is rich and dark and full of flavor and the only coffee I will ever use in my espresso machine. I use one each month and Amazon had a stellar price for 6. Walmart.com often has competitive pricing, but buy “Intenso” for an experience.

I have been using Illy for two decades. Excellent as an Espresso. All of the Illy blends are wonderful. It ca be found in coffee houses all over Europe.

Solid Italian espresso, 6-pack comes in original packaging and so far always undamaged.
