Beautiful little set. Yes it doesnt have the appendices.. we know this as it tells you exactly what's included. What it does have is the best quality set of discs for all the lotr movies, full extended versions, on one place. This alone was enough for me. Then you get the listed extras ... with your own ring keepsake :) I agree it would have been nice if they had have been in a steelbook format but think this would have increased the price over 300. This is a great balance. Let's face it the fans already have the previous blueray with any missing extras ... so this is all about the movies. This gives you the best version, best quality and a few fantastic extras ... love it

This is very good value for money for collectors only. When 4K films first come out, they retail at around £24.99. That’s the same price for a 90 minute feature. Considering each film is over 3 hours long, because let’s be honest, anyone looking at this isn’t watching the Theatrical Versions. You’re essentially paying the £50 extra for the collectors case, The One Ring, cards, booklet and special features. These versions do benefit The Hobbit more than the LOTR. Because of the very high quality CGI used, the Hobbit titles look cartoony in HD. The 4K versions make these films look absolutely stunning. This is how they were meant to be viewed. So, if you are a collector, this is a very good set to own. If not, just buy the box sets individually. Hope this helps!

Ok so let’s get this out the way first… this set does NOT include all the behind the scenes and appendices of earlier editions. What it does include is some not yet seen BTS extras. However, I bought this for the 4K remaster which is outstanding. It’s the best version of the saga IMO. It really does tie the two trilogies together into one. The sound is incredible too. Now the box art is beautiful and there are a number of ways to display it. I have chosen to display all of the art and set it on a book display stand. You can go understated with just black and dark speech text which is on the reverse or fold it in such a way as to display what you want. The disc art is plain and the extra stuff you get is mostly filler. I would rather have had just the 4K version and had all the appendices included again here instead of having the Blu-ray version included. Who’s buying this edition and then watching it in Blu-ray? Yes, it’s probably cheaper, just about, to buy the standalone 4K editions but this set keeps it all together and in a nice display. The extra price was worth it for the beautiful box art and unique design of the multi-display case. I love it.

Watched all of them back to back. The picture and audio come through so clearly. Amazed buy the spectacle of the movies even now.
