The best and only pencil you need!
These are my favorite brand of pencils! These things are amazing with how the mechanism prevents led from breaking as much and very durable. The eraser is small but I keep a pink eraser on hand for mistakes! I will always have a bunch of these on hand!

Special construction extends lifetime of "lead"
Zebra Mechanical Pencil, Del Guard, 0.7mm, Black -- An improved mechanical pencil due to use of internal springs and their placement. Expect fewer breakings of the "lead." Included "lead" probably is HB in color. Just a bit too hard/light for many of my uses and I will eventually use B or 2B type. Was recommended for POTA log keeping and is well suited for that purpose, and for cursive writing in general. 0.7 mm seems near optimum for writing use. This is a desirable pencil for all ages!

This thing is amazing
I handle my mechanical pencils pretty harshly, especially when taking calc 2 notes in an accelerated course. My pencil lead has always been prone to breaking (I use 7mm, I tried 5mm once and I couldn't even use it). I looked up better mechanical pencils and first settled on the kuru toga. However, I stumbled on this pencil while looking for the 7mm version of the kuru. I ended up buying both. First night after they arrived, they both seemed decent enough. I tried the kuru doing homework, and my lead didn't break once. It's sort of nice how the lead auto rotates, but I didn't really notice it as an improvement, except for the lead not breaking. Next day in calc, we had a lot of notes. I had the zebra delguard with me and definitely noticed myself pressing too hard as I tried to keep up with the notes. The spring mechanism worked like a miracle, and my lead didn't break once. Honestly, I kind of prefer the fact that the lead gets sharpened on one side, unlike the kuru. I like how it "bites" into the paper a bit and writes darker. I guess I am used to rotating the pencil as I need subconsciously. Both pencils are very nice upgrades from my walmart pentels, but I am loving this Zebra, I will definitely buy more. Hoping it will last me.

High quality at a great price
When it comes to pens, Zebra is always one of my favorite brands. Their Sarasa gel pens are excellent. So I heard about this mechanical pencil - the Del Guard - and the technology in the point and I wanted to try one (I use the term 'technology' carefully, because it can be overused - but this really is an interesting design). The 'feel' is excellent and he writing is a joy. I tend to crush these types of pencils more than I should and this one really works with me and avoids breakage. So I'm happy.I am surprised about a couple of things. The device is very high quality and looks and feels like it. I can't believe the price (very inexpensive). So, I am really surprised at the great value.I also hadn't realized, at first, that these were shipping directly from Japan. Shipping was cheap and they arrived here quickly. Another pleasant surprise. But, as a pencil, the experience is first-rate. High quality, excellent performance, and a good value.

everything is good but uncomfortable
This is a very good pencil, i tried to brake the pencil lead but i can't :)). But there's a problem with the design, the pencil is thick and hard so it's very uncomfortable when i use it for long time.

More confidence for expressive line work
I really like the protective mechanism, it lends to a comfortable experience and a confidence in making more expressive lines. Similar in some ways to Faber Castell's far more expensive TK Fine which also has a similar, but adjustable, mechanism.

Zebra is a pretty consitent knock out for pencils just like their pens.
So after using this pencil for a good while now. It's one of my go to pencils. I have shown and shared it to multiple others including a few artist friends who have adored it. The grip may be a bit slick but its wide enough for a comfortable grip. The biggest let down for this pencil is the small eraser. That is a very minor gripe though. The colors available now are also pretty decent selection. Great quality from Zebra as I have come to expect.

Quality!
I love these Delgaurd mechanical pencils. The lead last so much longer without breakage.
