Just what I needed and was delivered promptly

I bought these bulbs for my Mathmos Argo lava lamp. They worked – sort of. These bulbs seem to produce less heat than the original Mathmos bulb. As a result, my blobs stop rising about 2/3 of the way up the bottle, before falling to the bottom. The movement of the blobs is also very slow. I followed advice from many other users and bought a dimmer together with GU10 50W bulbs. This is the best solution for me. The 50W bulb is the GU10 MR16 shape, available here on Amazon, which is 12mm taller than the original 35W GU10 MR11 shape, however it does not contact the bottom of the bottle. The setting on my dimmer is typically between 65-75%. I can now orchestrate the movement of the blobs simply by adjusting the dimmer.

Went to order from the lava lamp manutactor and saw the price for one bulb!! Came here ordered these and they work a treat! I cant say how long each bulb will last as only arrived today. However, I have read this particular lava lamp, however, well known the brand is the bulbs dont last long. So now I have a good supply!

The official bulbs my lava lamp seller does are much more expensive and you don't get nearly this much. Glad I found these because I find the seller's bulbs break often. So far, no breaks with a bulb here after a month of use and if they do break - ha! - I've got a ton more

Bought as a replacement for the original fitting in a brand-new Mathmos Astro. The original GU10 lasted 30 days (about 100 hours) before blowing. Replacements direct from Mathmos are about £9.80/single, or £48/for-10. Here it's £10.99/for-8. The replacement is smaller - but does the job equally well - or possibly slightly better, by concentrating the heat in a slightly smaller area.

Last long but not bright at all.

Buonasera a tutti, ho comprato queste lampadine per la mia lava lamp preferita. Bolle rosse al sangue... scettico sull'acquisto, moooolto scettico perché fino ad adesso, mai un problema con le lampadine originali... fulminata l'ultima originale, mi sono convinto a prendere queste: sono tre giorni che la mia Lavina viaggia alla grande facendo il suo dovere...un paio d'ore, e bolla alla grande.... secondo me è un ottimo prodotto ad un ottimo prezzo, rispetto alle originali, non c'è differenza. Acquisto super consigliato

Nach vielen Jahren habe ich mir wieder eine Lavalampe der Fa. Mathmos geleistet und auch in ihrem Onlineshop bestellt. Als sie kam wurde sie schnell ausgepackt und in Betrieb genommen. Ich betone, genau nach Vorgabe, heist, Leuchtmittel mit Handschuhen eingesetzt ( GU 10 Mini) und ab in die Steckdosen damit. In der Beschreibung steht nicht länger wie 6 Std. betreiben, also brav nach 5 ausgeschaltet. Auffällig war das es fast 2 Std dauerte bis das Wachs ordentlich floss. Na ja, ist eben neu. 2 Tag, Lampe geht nicht mehr an. Warum??? Keine Ahnung. Leuchtmittel defekt??? Nach 5 Std??? Da ich einen 2 Zylinder mitbestellt habe war auch ein 2 Leuchtmittel dabei, rein damit und alles Gut. Nächster Tag, Lampe geht nicht mehr an, genau wie beim 1 mal. Kein Knall oder sonstwas. Ab nach Amazon, was kosten die Leuchtmittel???? 10€ / Stück, sauber. Service von Mathmos angeschrieben und in 3 Tagen waren neue Leuchtmittel da. Allerdings diesmal 3 Halogen G9 mit Adapter auf GU 10 (28W) Sockel (Bild 2). Ok, eingesetzt und Gut. Neeee, nix Gut,(Bild 1) zeigt die Lampe nach 4 Std. Brenndauer, extrem langsame (wenn überhaupt) Aktivität, sauber. Amazon muss helfen. Dieses Leuchtmittel gefunden. 8 Stück für 15€ ????, ob das was ist??? Gut 15 € habe ich, bestellt in 24 Stdwaren waren sie bei mir. 18 Uhr, draußen dunkel, Leuchtmittel rein, angestellt und gewartet. Nach 30 Min, erste Bewegungen, nach 60 Min (Bild 3) sehr schöööön, so kenne ich das. Nach weiteren 15 Min (Bild 4) alles wie es sein muss, volle Intensität, endlich. Fazit: Original (28W) sind zu schwach, die G9 noch mehr, weil sie ohne Reflektor arbeitet und somit noch mehr Energie in alle Richtungen verpufft. Mit den 35 W geht es so wie ich es kenne, habe vor Jahren schon mal eine gehabt, aber da waren noch 60W E-14 Fassungen drinnen. Über die Haltbarkeit kann ich natürlich nichts sagen, aber die Funktion ist so wie sie sein soll. Warum Mathmos so schwache Lichtquellen einsetzt die ihr Produkt so bescheiden aussehen lässt ist mir schleierhaft. Und an alle die glauben das man ja mit einer LED 4W Geld sparen kann sei gesagt: Die Watt werden zum Heizen benötigt, mit 4 W passiert garnichts ausser beleuchtetes Wachs welches am Boden liegt und auch da bleibt. Man kann da nicht sparen. Die reine Heizleistung wird benötigt, ist halt Physik. In diesen Sinne, viel Spass mit den lampen, meine Empfehlung.
