Q: Does the backing peel and crack after several washings?

Yes the backing eventually starts to come apart in pieces of tiny foam. I even lay mine out to dry never machine dry..

Yes, you can put these rugs in the washing machine. I put them on a gentle cycle for the washer and the rugs are still in good condition.

I’ve only had it a few months and it’s already coming apart. Maybe the quality has declined recently?
