flexiXtreme Tape Orange & Black Medium 5m Retractable Dog Leash/Lead for dogs up to 35kgs/77lbs

I'm not normally a fan of retractable leads, however, we have a rescue Jack Russell cross, who's recall is not up to scratch yet, so I got this for when we are in the fields to give him more freedom whilst still being attached to me.Although our dog is only approx 6kg in weight, we bought the medium as I thought the small wouldn't offer the strength and durability that this one has to offer, and I'm happy with that decision.I am so pleasantly surprised by this lead, it is brilliant. The handle fits well in the hand, the bungee works well, it's super sturdy, the lock is simple to use and is effective, and I trust it out on our walk - which I didn't think I would.The bright orange colour of the lead itself is great, as you can see it easily, and so far (we've had the lead for around 3 weeks and use it daily) no tangles or jams with the mechanism. The actual handle has a slot for a poo bag/treat container which we have and is brilliant. I've also managed to attach our poo holder disc and treat pouch on the handle so it carries most of the things we need on a walk without being clumsy in the hand. All in all a good buy. I'd definitely buy this lead again when our current one eventually needs replacing.

First of all I bought this because I wanted a lead that people could see from a safety point of view. Leads can be dangerous trip/tangle hazards. I wanted a soft grip pad so no callous build up in my hand. I wanted comfort because my medium 15 kg cocker spaniel is a puller! And I wanted him to be able to go off and sniff when we can't be off lead in a field. OMG! This is amazing! It takes the strain and impact when he reaches the end of the lead. My shoulder and body is saved so much pain, thanks to the springy bit at the end of the lead. It has such a nice and smooth recoil system, it's sleek! I'm impressed! I wanted an 8 metre one but they don't come in this length for medium dogs, I don't know why. I initially bought the large 8m but the weight in my hand was huge! It was 600g and this medium is 300g sourdough much better. I can hold this easily. It fits my hand great. The adjustment is smooth, you just roll the handle wheel to the perfect fit. I'm a female and have large-ish hands and I have it set to the smallest setting FYI. I'm very very impressed with this product. I had a small flexi rope retractable lad before this but the rope can't be seen, it wasn't comfortable for a puller. I've switched to this one. You'll never look back! And they should only make the Xtreme range. They're absolutely brilliant!!!!!!!! Puller or non-puller, occasional puller or constant puller - buy one! You'll both be happier 🐶

Just what I needed. Very strong it helped me out when I purchased another lead for my larger dog & broke after 1 week of use. This lead is now used for my small dog 🐕 as intended & it's great 👍 so reliable

I can’t give a full and honest review of this retractable lead yet because I haven’t used it yet. What I can say is that after looking at it, it does seem very well designed and made. The tape itself is made of a webbing type fabric, which means to say, it is a strong woven nylon. The locking material appears well designed too. I will endeavour to update this review once I have been on a decent walk with my 5 st. American bulldog. But up to yet it looks promising and I am very happy with my purchase.

I reviewed various retractable leads and all had some reviews saying they broke. In the end I went for Flexi as it was the brand I had been using and this model seems more robust than last one I had. So far so good - only had it 3 days but works smoothly, I like the bright orange tape and the extra strong section where it attaches to collar. comfortable and light to hold. Fingers crossed
