This wrap can be used either hand; hot or cold. I primarily got it for heat. And it is fantastic. The wrap is compact yet adequate in size to cover entire hand. Very lightweight. Super soft. Very easy to secure. A must have when need to apply heat to hand!!!

When you need to ice a wrist, holding the cold in place can be difficult and it makes it hard to use your hand and arm for other purposes. Having a wrap like this one is very convenient. I really like that this wrap is soft -- it is quite comfortable to wear, both in terms of the material against your skin (very soft) or the flexibility of the gel. Much more comfortable than a traditional ice pack is. If you need to keep your wrist from moving, it does a good job there too.Making the wrap cold is super easy. It can be kept in the freezer to be ready when needed, if you like. When it comes out, it is still soft enough to be comfortable. Even straight out of the freezer, it was not too cold to wear -- but definitely cold.My aunt has some fairly serious wrist pain most days, and has tried a number of different types of gel wraps. She really likes this wrap, for how comfortable it is and how well it fits. Wrapping around the thumb, it works much better than a standard gel pack that is not designed to fit the hand.I do not expect we will use it hot much, but the directions for how to do so are very clear. I put it in the microwave for 10 seconds (as instructed). It felt a little warm in some spots but still cool in others. I kneaded the gel a bit and put it back in for 5 seconds. The again for another 5. At that point, the gel was slightly warm. I expect you would want it warmer for true therapy purposes, but it was a cozy temp. I did not want to warm it too much at the risk of damaging it, given that I do not expect to use it warm much, anyway. How long it takes to get really warm will likely depend on your microwave, but as the instructions indicate, I would also advise doing so very slowly. It warmed more in 5 seconds than I would have expected it to. Kneaded it between times, keeps the temperature more constant and will likely keep the wrap from getting too hot in spots and causing damage.The only downside is that it is a little tricky to put on well. Holding it in place with the same hand that you need to use to wrap the straps is a bit difficult, but it is do-able to put on yourself, and once it is wrapped, it holds really well. I have fairly thin hands and wrist, and this wrap was plenty big for me and for my aunt, but was also able to be snugged down nicely.Overall, this is a very comfortable ice/heat wrap that I expect will get a lot of use in my household.

Having arthritis in the wrists is literally a pain, I thought this wrap might help, so I requested it from Vine and here we are. This review is for: Wrist Hand Ice Pack Wrap-Reusable Gel Hot & Cold Therapy for Pain Relief from Carpal Tunnel, Soreness.The wrist is a difficult area to treat with heat or cold. This wrap is special because you can keep it on with the velcro strap. Even with this is frozen, it is soft enough to velcro on and keep the area cold and thereby, hopefully, reducing pain and/or swelling.Heat is my jam though, and this wrap feels wonderful fresh out of the microwave. Also the heat lasts longer in the wrap than it does when it's frozen. The strap keeps it in place so you still have some use of your hand while you're treating it. You don't have to sit there and hold a bag of ice on it or rest your hand over it. I did find that sometimes the wrap goes askew and needs a bit of tightening or straightening, but no big deal.If you're main use is going to be heat then I highly recommend this wrap. If you're main use is going to be as a cold press, then you might be better served with those smaller cold plastic bags, because this does not hold the cold that long.I feel like this a good buy for the current asking price of $15.99 and it seems to be durable. I'm very happy with this wrist wrap!

This does not fit my hand or my wife's hand very well at all. It is difficult to put on yourself. The thumb hole is irregular and appears to be have cut by hand with scissors.I had high hopes that this would help her hand but it doesn't.

I rarely use any medications and that includes over-the-counter anti-inflammatory ones. And so, for any kind of pain relief, I tend to use hot or cold therapy. I opt for the more natural options like a hot or cold packs, heating pads, and / or wraps. I do like the innovative cold/ hot therapy wrap like this one. It’s specifically designed to wrap one’s hand or a smaller joint like the elbow. I’ve had my share of wrist problems so this one should come in handy.The directions for use are clearly outlined on the plastic bag the wrap came in. The time factor for heating the gel wrap in the microwave is dependent on the wattage in one’s microwave. My recommendation is to go slow as these can be damaged. I accidently put another gel pack in once and I had to dispose of it as it leaked. I really like the soft, fleece-like lining inside this wrap, which made it very comfortable.I opted to try the heat therapy and put the pack in the microwave. This gives off a nice warm, steady heat that feels great in the winter. Gel packs can get very hot so I’m always cautious when I do heat them. I do appreciate decent directions and these have them. There are two different options for use: cold application and hot application. This makes this cold / hot therapy wrap very flexible. I do love the fact that this wrap can be used in two different ways.The material is quite strong, unlike some of the thin gel packs we all use to keep beverages cool in the warmer months. The elasticized Velcro keeps the wrap securely in place around my wrist. If I had to purchase this wrap in a medical store, it would be much, much more than the asking price of $15.99. The price is quite reasonable for a high-quality wrap.
