Good quality, robust pot.
A well-made, robust coffee pot. The filter / plunger is well designed and, unlike others I've used, does not require dismantling to wash. The plunger has a nice silicone seal around the edge. Weirdly this sometimes 'sticks' a little on the way down, and sometimes slides smoothly. I'm not sure why and it's not a problem, but a quirk of the design. The pot I have is robust enough to take a whack when emptying the spent coffee grounds and, after more than a year of daily use, the handle, a potential weak point in the construction, remains firm, in spite of being knocked about when banging to loosen and empty the soggy grounds. I hand wash mine, so don't know how it would fare in the dishwasher. The only sign of a weakness is that, after many many months of daily use, the paint finish around the upper lip of the jug has some small areas where it is coming away slightly. This is purely cosmetic and not a problem, given the overall quality. I would buy another one if mine should give up for any reason. I really like it.

Nice things cost money
So you are going to spend this much on a french press . It works well for what it is . At the end of the day it keeps the coffee hot for maybe an hour or so . But you are if you were honest buying it because it looks the dogs whatnots on the shelf and it does

Poor Construction & Does Not Last
It's a very badly designed piece of kit as far as its primary function goes: the filter itself. After repeated use, the filter detaches from the plastic metal core holding it in place. It does not reconnect, so effectively the filter is completely broken and cannot be used. For such a price point, why this isn't all in one metal or at least a metal filter screwed to the central pole is a mystery. Instead what they have done is attach plastic to the metal, which simply is not up to the job. And of course, we all love micro-plastics in hot liquid entering out bodies, it's what we bend over backwards to pay for in a premium product. Just avoid this. Feels premium, but actually built and designed on the cheap, and certainly not built to last.

Disappointing from a Fellow fan
As someone who owns the Fellow Ode, Stagg and other accessories, I was disappointed with the quality, especially based on the price. Had this been 1/3 cheaper I would have forgiven some of the build quality. For my Clara, there was a defect with the wired mesh where the edge was not fitted properly and left a hole in the filter... hence all grounds ended up in my cup of coffee. As some users also mentioned, I also discovered paint chipped along the edges after 2 days of use. The was very disappointing especially for something at this price and a company that prides itself on aesthetics. I was hoping the finish would be smooth similar to that of the Stagg, but this is more rough and akin to the Ode measuring cup... Which I'm sure owners of the Ode would know doesn't last regarding paintwork. Overall there is nothing spectacular and nothing innovative in comparison to other cafetieres. You are mostly buying this for the look. Shame about the build quality and durability. Have returned this item for a refund.

Returned - very mixed reviews
So if like me, you’ve seen quite mixed reviews for this, then unfortunately I’ve bad news! I went for the walnut trim option. But upon arrival (directly from Fellows), the black finish had already failed on the rim. I’ve returned without even using it. For a £130+ cafetière, I’ve little confidence it’s going to last. Very disappointing.

Not worth the money
This started to chip within a few uses so looks tatty with stainless steel showing through. I was also constantly trying to tighten the wooden top and it usually squirted coffee out the sides when plunging even though I'd not overfilled. I really couldn't understand why this has such a high price tag given it's essentially a coffee jug with plunger. Returned as poor quality and ridiculous price for not sure what.

Brewed well, aged badly
Another case of “I should’ve read the reviews first…” At ££££, this French Press sits well above the standard range, with most top-rated models from brands like Bodum, Le Creuset and Espro typically falling between £10 and £100, according to The Telegraph, The Guardian and The New York Times. A few months in, the paint started peeling. It still brews fine, but at this price, you’d expect far better build quality. If you’re after something that lasts and still looks good on the counter, this isn’t it. Very disappointed

Well I think it is at least. I had this French press on my wish list for a full year having seen it at a friends house. It is everything I hoped it would be and it has killer looks. The walnut handle is the cherry on the cake.
