Fahrenheat FSSHO4004 Smart Series Digital Programmable LED Touchscreen Wall Heater for Home and Commercial Use, White

This is an additional unit purchased shortly after receiving and installing the first unit...yes, I liked it that much. First off, this is a great looking unit. It's blue-lit touch screen gives it a cool, high-tech look that I really like. Secondly, this thing doesn't play around when delivering heat...which should come as no surprise being a 4 kilowatt heater.I also like the looks of the beveled, louvered cover that's over all the mechanicals. I had no problems installing this well-built heater in my eat-in kitchen too.The unit uses high quality components throughout that are commensurate with it's price tag.My kitchen has a medium-sized, hot water radiator that basically does a good job of warming the kitchen, however sometimes we like things a little toastier while we sit around socializing or viewing media. The remote control is a nice luxury touch in that you don't have to get up to make changes to the heater.This second unit will be used for heating my 3rd floor which doesn't have radiators at all. I purchased the optional surface mounting frame for this location.

This heater is supposed to be able to turn down the heat output (from a max of 4000 watts down to 800 watts and then off) as the room gets warmer, to balance out the room temp and keep from overshooting the set temp. The problem is that it lowers the heat output too early and the heater never actually gets to the set temp because as it gets within 3-4 degrees of the set temp, the heat output isn't enough to keep the room temp rising. Consequently it never gets there. In order to really get a lot of heat out of the unit, you have the setpoint higher than desired creating a larger differential between the room temp and the set point (keeping the heat output high), and turn it back down when it gets where you really want it. My room is a little larger than 400 sq. ft. (500) but if there was a way to keep it from turning down the heat output as early as it does, it would be definitely adequate. Before this heater, two 2000 watt heaters kept the room toasty.It also says the unit is whisper quiet. It is definitely not whisper quiet. The fan is quite loud. Think of a portable fan on medium to high and that is how loud it is.

This unit works well and arrived in good condition. It is a little on the loud side but what do you expect for a small wall unit. The remote control is tiny but useful.

I have 3 of these heaters, one 3-year old and two 2-year old units and boy do I regret it. The 3-year old heater has already had 2 controller units go out ($175 each). Of the 2-year old heaters, one had the controller die and the other rattles loudly. At this point I just hope i can get another couple of years before I have to pay an installer to replace my heating all over again. These units are garbage and should be avoided at all costs.

Overall a very nice heater, I have an 800 square foot, one bedroom house, the living room and kitchen being about 10X40 and it works well mounted in the living room, the house also has two plug in space heaters(they were around 175 each) from Wal-Mart, and can keep the house at around 75 to 78 on cold days say 15-30° it is only a 2000w that connects to 220. Simple installation for a person who has the tools to do the work. Said it was backordered and delayed the entire time it was shipping but it got here in about 4 days using standard shipping. It has a remote control but can also be operated using the touch screen on the unit. Thanks, seems to be working out well.

OK unit but not well made. The steel grate can be damaged easily by pushing on it. The fan is pretty loud but for an office it will work.Not fond of the programing features but they do seem to work. Also...DO NOT push in on the front louvers. They will rub on the fan & cause a very loud noise.

Nice unit, easy to install, I added the Berko SmartSeries Surface Mounting Frame from Northern White since I was not mounting between wall joists and doing a surface mount. Important to line up hole you cut in frame to the plug hole on the top of the heated so you can push your wire straight through. If its not lined up it could make it hard to fish the wires up or down between the frame and the heater. You only need 3 wires to install this, 1 black/1 red going to 30amp breaker, they tell you to wrap the red with black tape in the box and a ground wire. I have not played around with the remote or the auto features yet.

I use zone heating and the basement always got cold.I tried many different 110 volt space heater but they just didn't have enough BTU's to make a differance.This thing works. I mounted it to the concrete wall with tapcons, wired it up and the basement was warm in minutes.It has multiple power levels and only uses enough energy to do the job. It seems intuitive enough to maintain a constant temp. The remote is pretty junky.I'm thinking of getting another to help heat the family room.
