Great, simple game with several surprising twists.
As someone who had never heard of or played Fluxx before, I wasn't sure which version I should go with when I came across these games. I chose the Cthulhu version after reading the reviews, and I'm glad I did. The game is very simple and easy to pick up right out of the box, after just a quick scan of the instructions. However, despite it's beginner-friendly set up, there can be a deep degree of strategizing once you get the hang of it. At the same time, the deck is constructed so that chaos reigns at any given time. The entire game can be flipped on it's head with a well-placed Action card, and someone can sneak in a win out of nowhere by changing a Rule card, or swapping out the Goal/Ungoal. The game is very interesting, and this seems to be a good version to grab for people who have never heard of Fluxx before. It works fantastically with just two people, and just gets more fun and chaotic as you add players. I will be checking out the other versions available. If you're considering getting this game, definitely go for it. You won't be disappointed. Great family fun.

Fluxx is at it's heart a very simple game. You don't even need to know how to play to start playing. Every single card tells you how to use itself. You just read the cards. Generally you draw some cards and play some cards. A player wins when they manage to have a combination of a Goal card and some Keeper cards down. The problems and fun come from the rules being in flux, the goal can change, the rules change, keepers come and go, and you have to keep track of all the nonsense. Games last between about 5 and 20 minutes generally. There are many many themed versions. Fluxx is occasionally accused of being too random. Which is fair, it's very random. Fortunately that totally makes sense in a Cthulhu themed version. Lovecraft's universe is an uncaring place where forces beyond your control can snuff you out without a moment's notice, and Cthulhu Flux is a game where far worse than your friend beating you Yog-Sothoth might just burst into our dimension and end the game causing everyone at the table to lose. It's an oddly appropriate merging of a goofy game and a bleak theme. People are slapping Cthulhu onto everything these days, this is one that actually works. For all my talk of randomness it also feels like a more strategic version of the game than Star Flux, the other one I own. There are things to keep track of and it feels like there are more things to do that are useful, and it somehow isn't as subject to the endless Goal cycling that sometimes makes any planning at all impossible. With the Ungoals, where the monsters win, there can even be an almost co-op aspect to it as players try to win while keeping things from getting out of hand and everyone losing.

Great, Fun, and Amazing!
This is a game where the rules change all the time, so you’ll almost never play the same game twice. This version with Cthulhu adds elements where everyone in the table might loose, so you may have to work together. But not too much Cuase someone will get the win. But there’s even an option for everyone to loose, expect you because you are the on Cthulhu side! It may sound complicated but I would definitely look into it, it’s worth playing. It’s almost addictive!

Fluxx With A Doom Twist
This is an amazing game edition. It can take a playthrough to fully get down the rules, but once you play you know exactly what to do. Fluxx - Cthulhu Edition plays like normal flux except that it involves the mystery, horror, and doom of H.P Lovecraft's monsters, characters, and items. This edition has an added type of Goal called the UnGoal - where if its conditions are met, then Doom (the monsters) Win and everyone loses (unless you play with the added Meta Rule ~ which allows whoever is holding the Cultist or Secret Cultist card to win) ~ Which I think is a great addition/change from normal Fluxx as it adds an aspect of not only trying to work against each other but with each other at the same time (unless you're the cultist of course). The rules, goals, and keepers are constantly changing throughout the game, making it both a quick and long game, a ton of fun, and has a high replay value for the price. I have played this game with both friends and family and is enjoyed by all. It's been asked to be brought out/played whenever we're together. Lovers of Cthulhu and/or Fluxx will greatly enjoy this edition.

Great iteration of Fluxx for zombie fanatics
Fluxx is a wonderful card game that's easy to teach and pick up, quick to play, and great fun in small groups. It's slightly different than the average card game - some of the game mechanics are alterable by cards that can be played during your turn. This allows the game to be interesting and unpredictable time after time, heightening replay value. Bang for the buck, I think the Fluxx series of card games is one of the best in the board game world today. This particular version, as I'm sure is readily apparent from the title, is zombie themed. Think of taking a shotgun to zombies, escaping with your friends in a car, or becoming a zombie yourself in order to win! While I'm not the biggest proponent of zombie themed things, it's definitely well executed. The only thing that prevents Zombie Fluxx from receiving five stars is the fact that regular Fluxx feels like a slightly more balanced game. I'd take Fluxx over Zombie Fluxx any day of the week because of the better ratio of the different types of cards. All in all, I highly recommend it!
