The Lord of the Rings Instrumental Solos for Strings: Cello (with Piano Acc.), Book & Online Audio/Software (Pop Instrumental Solo Series)

I bought this sheet music for viola and piano. Everything was there and perfect, just as described. The viola part was in the middle, secured by a staple. I don't know if that setup is the case with the other instruments' parts, but it's worth a double check for anyone worried that the solo part is missing-- it might in fact be there. I can imagine it's possible to overlook, especially if you're new to reading music in general. It can blend in if you don't for sure what to look for.The music is a great bunch of arrangements that will for sure please LotR fans. The viola solos are written in C, G and D, so there's enough interest and challenge for novice or intermediate players but shouldn't scare anyone off! I actually grabbed this to get my husband back to his piano but am for sure going to use it with my viola students. I'm hoping to find cello and violin parts for my high and low strings kids too.

I'm pretty new at the cello, but played trombone for 8 years, so my fingers aren't keeping up with my music reading ability. I got bored very quickly of the "beginners" music books and asked my instructor if I could bring in other stuff. Lessons are *so* much more fun now, even the teacher likes them better! The first thing he dug out was the Rohan theme. This book is easy enough for a moderate beginner like myself, challenging enough to be fun, and has all those themes fans love. Practicing isn't a chore anymore since I'm not sawing away at "Go tell aunt Rhody." I'd recommend this for anyone.

Not super hard to play

I played cello for years in school, and sadly have not been able to for several years since graduating college. I recently started playing again and wanted something other than the standard ed books to brush up with. This was a great purchase - I would definitely recommend it to others. The music was not too difficult to read for someone who is just getting back into music or wanting to take their education to the next level from beginner to intermediate.

This cello solo book came without the cello solo part. There is supposed to be a packet in the middle with exclusively cello music so one can play with the piano accompaniment. The piano sheet music (the bulk of the book) has a very small cello accompaniment part for the purpose of the piano player to see what the cello is supposed to be playing at a given measure. Well, this was MISSING the middle cello solo part. I initiated a return and Amazon sent me another. However, the 2ND one was MISSING the cello part ALSO! 2 products in a row with that vital part missing.In reading the reviews it sounds like I'm not the only one who had this problem. Very unhappy with this purchase. Will be returning.

This compilation was purchased for my daughter, who has been taking viola lessons at school during the past year and a half. This compilation was perfect for her ability and also came with a demo disk so that she can play her viola along with the other accompaniment. I highly recommend this for a beginner violist

My students love these books and have been excited to practice--finally! The cd's are well done although the songs are at the proper tempo so they are difficult for beginning instrumentalists. None-the-less, I reccomend these books for intermediate level and above.

I bought this for a friend and she absolutely loved it!

Extremely disappointed that my copy doesn't contain the removable Cello part even after I requested a replacement item. I was looking forward to playing this at home but unable to as the cello part is so small on the sheet music and page turns are tricky. Returning another copy, again!

Ich hatte mit das Heft bestellt weil ich das Rohan Stück auf dem Cello spielen wollte. Ich war überrascht das eine CD mit Demos und Play-Alongs dabei ist. Hatte ich beim bestellen überlesen. Für den Preis sehr cool. Das Heft ist einwandfrei und beinhaltet alles was man so aus Herr der Ringe kennt. Ich bin begeistert. Jetzt muss ich üben!

Il prodotto è costituito da:- un libro a colori contente partiture complete per pianoforte e violoncello.- un libro contenente solo le parti di violoncello (utile per lo studio in quanto permette di concentrarsi sulle proprie parti in una o due pagine massimo per pezzo).- CD per effettuare il playalong. Ogni brano è presente in una versione completa di violoncello ed una in cui è assente per consentire di suonare insieme agli altri strumenti. Da notare che all'inizio del CD viene dato il LA in modo da poter accordare i violoncello. L'accordatura è LA 442.Per chi ama LOTR è sicuramente un buon sistema per incentivare lo studio, lo consiglio però anche a chi non ama il film in quanto la colonna sonora è scritta da compositori di fama internazionale ed alcuni brani sono veramente piacevoli da interpretare al violoncello.
