I Like These Speakers
What I can't tell you - I can't compare these speakers to a 2or 3 thousand dollar set of speakers. I have never had speakers that expensive and even much more in my home. I have heard them in a specialty store but not at home. They will sound different in the studio than at home. I do know the higher class speakers have beautifully constructed cabinets, well damped inside and higher quality components. What I can tell you - These speakers do look nice even though they are not made of fine woods and have rounded or beveled edges. In fact I have seen some brands of tower speakers that cost 3 times as much as these speakers and they have the same basic square edge construction on the outside. I think these speaker look impressive for the money. Ok, the grille is not magnetic but it is secure and looks very nice. The connection posts on the back are very nice. They added a nice touch to the base even though it is just cosmetic. Now on to the sound. I have these speakers hooked up to a brand new 80 watts per channel Yamaha amplifier (not receiver), a brand new Cambridge CD player, a brand new Andover Spindeck Max Turntable, and a high resolution streamer. I am using a new Klipsch 10 inch subwoofer all items purchased through Amazon. I am only using this system for stereo music. The highs from these speakers are very crisp and clear. The mid sound is warm and robust. The lows are very adequate but can come nowhere near to what a dedicated subwoofer can produce. I knew this going in which is why I wanted the subwoofer. Overall I am totally pleased with the music these towers produce and the 80 watt amp drives them beautifully and they can get quite loud without distortion unless you go nuts and over drive them to the extreme. Now would a 2 or 3 thousand dollar pair of towers out perform them? I would say yes. But the big question is does the 2 or 3 thousand dollar set give you a 2 or 3 thousand dollar performance increase? I would venture to say they are better but not thousands better. Of course this is my opinion and I am not an audiophile, but I have listened to different systems all of my life and I do know what sounds good and what does not. I have heard some crappy systems. I am sure an expert might hear or not hear things I should hear but again, I am totally pleased with the sound these speakers produce and I don't give a flying fig if they are missing a little detail.

Amazing sound for the price and smallest with 6.5 bass driver at only 13" H
Sounds amazing. I was thinking of adding a subwoofer for small speakers, but these supply great bass in a small or medium sized room.Vocal, Mids and Highs are also crystal clear.

Good Option for Stereo Speakers
Got these speakers to replace some older bookshelf speakers in a vintage stereo system. I read a lot of reviews about current budget bookshelf speakers and settled on these for their solid base and effective high end. They have that and the midrange was better than expected. I don't normally crank them too high, but they are able to be played a bit loud and they hold true at all volumes that I've tried. I was surprised how warm they are too. They have a nice retro look to them and the build quality is very good. Particularly if you can pick them up on sale, these Polks are a nice option for stereo speakers.

Excellent speakers for ATMOS "If you know what you're doing".
Excellent ATMOS speakers for the price. They can be mounted as Upfiring to reflect off of the ceiling; sitting on your towers, or wall mounted facing toward the main sitting area; as front height speakers. If you know what you're doing, these speakers will work for you and your ATMOS. If your ceiling is more than about 9 feet, upfiring speakers don't work well. Bouncing off of a ceiling takes some acoustical physics. But if your ceiling is less than 9 feet (like a basement theater room) then these can be a decent option. I actually use 3 sets of speakers for my atmost. These plus 2 other different brands. ALL 3 sets are up firing, but these polks sit on my towers, the other 2 pairs of speakers are mounted close to the ceiling on an entertainment wall unit. They still reflect off of the ceiling, but they are only inches away from the ceiling. (For those concerned, my receiver only has output for 1 pair of atmos speakers. My other 2 pair are 8 ohm speakers. I put them in parallel to give me 4 ohms; then these polks are 4 ohms so I put them in series with the other two that I've connected, and now I have 8 ohms again). Definitely worth buying if you have low ceiling OR if you're going to mount them at the wall/ceiling and point them down.

Good quality for price
They look great and the sound quality is really good! They fit perfectly in 2 small corners in our music room. A good addition to our other speakers. Comparable to our Bose speakers.

Solid 6.5" speaker from Polk punches down low
It's true - Polk has upped their game the past few years with better tuning of their speakers and the MXT-20 is no different. I was able to get these for a very good price, the build quality is pretty decent as speakers have generally been built better for several years now. Great bass, down to 38Hz although this can become un-refined a bit at higher volume. Very responsive to EQ, the bass can get thick on certain recordings but is not muddy. The tweeter plays a bit on the tame side, these are definitely not bright with my amps. They are rated up to 200 watts so they can get pretty loud The grills are nice, not magnetic but the fabric is a pleasant tweed. The light-colored driver is a magnet for being touched with the grills off.Really good job by Polk, the MXT / Signature Elite / Reserve lines are all impressive and have replaced the previous models considerably. If these boxes can be placed 24"- 30" on stands with on-axis the sound is very focused at moderate/high volume. They are much better than I expected and work better with high power amps like other Polk speakers I've owned. The price varies but are often on sale, hard to find better value for a speaker this good.

Excellent value
Package as delivered was remarkably heavy indicating massive magnets and thick wooden enclosures. 2-way passive studio monitors with crossover at 2200 Hz are airy and crispy. Dome tweeter is highly directional and ducted woofer can be easily felt while driven by my 25W RMS x 2 amp.
