Great Housing, Difficult to Attach
If you need the same great protection for your new Hero 5 as you have had with previous GoPro models, this is a definite buy. It is the same materials they have been using for years, and they work great. The housing comes with an open back door and two waterproof ones, which is nice in case an o-ring gets damaged on one of them. Also, compared to GoPro's other accessories, this is one of the most fairly priced, especially for what you're getting. One more thing to keep in mind is that the filter size for this case is different than the Hero 3+ or 4 housings (not sure about older models, but I would assume they are different as well), so if you have filters for those you will need to get new ones. The one thing that I didn't know before purchasing that I wish I did is that you actually have to remove the front glass panel from the Hero 5 before putting it into this case. This isn't a huge issue, but it is hard to get off and feels like you might break it if you're not careful. Also, that little glass panel is quite small and could be lost or damaged easily, so also be careful not to lose it (though they do sell replacements). So to conclude, this case is amazing. If you need better protection for your camera or need to go below 30 feet underwater, you should definitely get this. As long as you're careful with the Hero 5's front glass panel, you should be all set.

GoPro Super Suit vs. Kupton Housing
I purchased the Kupton underwater housing and the GoPro Super Suit for my Hero 7 Black. I have not yet tested either underwater. THIS IS AN UNSOLICITED COMPARISON AND I DO NOT WORK FOR NOR AM I IN ANYWAY CONNECTED WITH KUPTON OR GOPRO. 1) OUT OF THE BOX: Advantage GoPro. The Kupton came in a small, nondescript cardboard box. The GoPro came in a nicer package that you would expect to see on a store shelf. 2) PRICE: Advantage Kupton. The Kupton housing was roughly $15 cheaper than the GoPro on Amazon, coming in around the $20 price point. 3) BUILD QUALITY: Advantage GoPro. This is a HUGE difference between these two housings. Both plastic housings feel substantial, however, THE HINGE ON TOP OF THE KUPTON THAT LATCHES THE BACK IS A VERY WEAK POINT compared the GoPro. This WILL BREAK and much sooner than later. This could ruin a dive trip. The GoPro latch is very substantial and looks as though it will stand up to the constant opening and closing of the housing. The Kupton will not. 4) USABILITY: Advantage Kupton. You literally have to remove the protective lens from your GoPro in order for it to fit. The Kupton accepts the camera without having to do this. It is not the easiest thing to take off either. OVERALL IMPRESSION: First, DO NOT TRUST EVERY REVIEW. I can see a competitor company purposely skewing reviews to get people to buy a subpar product on Amazon. Now, having purchased both the Kupton and GoPro with my own $$, I would recommend the GoPro Super Suit over the Kupton for one reason: the hinge mechanism. This small metal locking clip has the potential to make or break your scuba/snorkeling trip. Granted, the Hero 7 is waterproof, but you’re shopping for an underwater housing so let’s assume you are going to house your camera regardless. Now, if Kupton were to redesign this latch, they could very well claim to have the best housing simply because you do not have to take your camera apart. Another point too is, if something does happen to your camera, it is almost always better to be using an housing made by GoPro than an aftermarket brand. NOTE: Both the GoPro and the Kupton have small actuating pins that press the on/off and record buttons while your camera is in the housing. I can easily imagine these pins wearing through the rubber buttons on your camera. I may rig something up for mine so this does not happen.

Headstrong
The GoPro heats up a bit too much. Then it shuts down. Thought about drilling into the device to make to ventilation. While playing airsoft and smashed my helmet against a metal wall and there was 0 damage to the case and the GoPro.

Super Suit started leaking after 14th dive, max dive at 30 meters. Trouble shooting and seal replacement didn't fix. Replaced!!!
EDIT from 2 stars to 4: Even though I was well past the limited warranty, I online chatted with Go Pro and they were super helpful, nice, and quickly went though working out getting a replacement sent to me in a business week. It's unfortunate that I lost many great filming opportunities and went through a lot of time and frustration trying to get my super suit to work while on the Great Barrier Reef but I'm happy they are standing behind their product and offering a replacement. Having to deal with the breakage, the headache of trying to fix it and getting a replacement, is why I'm only providing 4 stars. Thank you Go Pro This super suit started leaking after 14 dives being used in Bali and NE Indonesia. I think it's through the buttons. The door and seals were silicone lubricated and replaced and extensive trouble shooting with other underwater photographers for days couldn't figure out the source of the leak. It's failure ruined my ability to get any useful video during 16 + dives in Australia and on The Great Barrier Reef. Luckily the camera it's survived the saltwater bath in the super suit housing and has been in good working order. I hope to get a suit replacement because it seemed like an unusual fail spot for the super suits. Lots of dive masters and underwater photographers took a look at it and never had seen a failure like mine. The warranty online didn't provide coverage with enough time to even finish packing and organizing all my camera case and tools set for my trip so that's frustrating hopefully we can figure something out. The other big issue with the case is in humid places when the camera starts heating up inside the suit it can fog out the case and lens becoming unusable until it dried. In the Jungle of Indonesia this isn't so easily done. Having to open the suit to switch battery's meant moisture could get in and I really needed to be sure I dried off the camera when doing so. To prevent fogging I would dry the suit best I could and then place 2 "drying salts" packets inside while charging batteries or not using it. This helped keep moisture to a minimum. The moisture fog issue I don't expect super suit to be at fault over or fix. I believe it comes with traveling in a jungle environment with a camera that you'll come across such difficulties. But something that could help inform people. buying a packet of drying salt sticks is a good idea with a Go-Pro. Otherwise the suit was sturdy and comforting protection.

Fits like a glove
The Suit fits the Hero 5 perfectly. You have to remove the lens cover but that is very easy and quick. I like how it comes with three different back doors so accommodate different situations. One back door allows you to keep the go pro in the housing yet still be able to access the back touchscreen capability of the camera. The other two doors are similar except one can be used to glue a floating foam to make the camera float in case you let it go. This will not allow you to see the back screen of the camera. The third door will let you see the back screen of the camera but it will not let you use the touchscreen functionality. I like the easy but secure clamp on the top. It has a button you need to move in order to open the clamp. This prohibits the back door to open accidently be catching on anything you are wearing while under water or any other activity. The lens cover on the housing is made out of glass and it doesn't distort nor shifts colors on the video or pictures. An additional benefit for this housing is that there are multiple after market manufacturers for accessories and filters that fit this housing.

Best Option for Motorsports Recording
I have been recording track days for a few years, and the Super Suit (with the full door) is the best option for getting reduced wind noise. I have a targa car and I drive with the targa roof removed; wind noise will utterly dominate the video playback unless great care is taken. The Super Suit cuts the wind and still picks up the nice engine sounds (My camera is mounted to my rear firewall with the mid-engine in the rear; your front-engine car may play back differently). I tried it with the "skeleton" door, and that still lets through way too much wind noise, so I'd recommend the full door. I can't say that I have tried to manipulate the camera much while inside the Super Suit, other than to start/stop recording, which it does perfectly.
