Makita the make for professionals
Nothing to dislike but plenty to like especially the price just holding the drill and feeling the weight of it you can tell it’s a well put together quality product and the performance is faultless on every setting also with the brushless motor there’s nothing to go wrong.

Hard working, light yet sturdy build, fab service from Makita.
I'm writing this in order to say a big thank you to Makita. After 3 months I managed to brake mine. Entirely my fault ignoring noises from the clutch & heavy duty work it was doing, over heating and abuse I frankly gave this tool. It gave up the ghost after asking the drill to do one large hole in stone too many. Makita were brilliant, picking up my drill, repairing it and returning it within 10 days and without cost. First class service, thank you.

Tough on power with a 3yrs guarantee
I purchased this Combi drill because of its power to ratio.Comparing it to my DHP485 the difference is unbelievably good. Ok a few have marked it as an heavy product but when you see the quality compared to the 285 then you see why it has that little bit more weight.Firstly the 286 comes with a extra grip handle to hold it steady whilst your drilling concrete Brickwork or drywall. It also comes with a n adjustable depth gauge so that you know how far to drill in. The 486 surprisingly comes with 2 screwdriver bits attached to the body. The specs on the 485 that I own are okay for general purpose work.485 output 50nm486 output 130 nmVast difference as you can see.Now I own an impact driver 2 combi drills and a jigsaw.Unbelievable prices I paid.Combi 485 with 2 5amp batteries was 150 all in486 Body only was 127Also comes with a Makita 3years warranty.Purchased from Toolden and arrived 2 days early Full 5*****

Avoid
Didn't last very long, not much use at all. Gears went and no response from seller.

Torquey, but...
Plenty of torque to turn big bits. I got this drill specifically for use in timber framing, for drilling 25mm peg holes, and driving large, long framing screws. It does all that with enough torque to hurt you if you're not careful. The selector ring to switch between hammer, drill and driver modes is too easily moved when tightening the chuck, and the chuck itself feels a bit clunky and inclined to stick/jam.
