Q: How heavy is the clasp? I have a 12 lb. terrier and don't want a heavy clasp to be flopping around on her back on the harness.

With a 12 lb terrier, i would think a 3/4" would fit into your "too heavy" category. If he/she is only 12 lb, you would probably be better off getting a 1/2" leash. thats what we have for our 8 lb yorkie. Lupine products are really sturdy. there's no way a pooch that small will break it. Hope this helps.
