A stylish upgrade for any turntable!
I recently purchased this acrylic white platter for my AT LP70XBT turntable, and I’m genuinely pleased with it. While I was initially unsure if it would make a noticeable difference compared to the felt slip mat supplied with my turntable, I can confidently say this purchase has been worthwhile, even if the sound quality improvement it allegedly offers isn’t immediately obvious. To be honest, I can’t discern any significant change in audio performance between the felt mat and this acrylic platter. The sound remains as crisp and warm as ever, but that’s not to say this product doesn’t have its merits. Where it truly shines is in its visual appeal and practicality. The sleek white acrylic looks stunning on my turntable, giving it a modern, premium aesthetic that complements my setup beautifully. It’s a definite upgrade in terms of style, making my vinyl sessions feel a bit more special, and as a nice bonus my transparent coloured records really pop against the white platter. Beyond looks, this platter does an excellent job of keeping my records free from dust and fibres, which is a minor annoyance with a felt mat. The smooth surface ensures nothing sticks to my vinyl, and I’ve noticed my records stay cleaner during playback. Additionally, the build quality is impressive – it feels sturdy and well-made, giving me confidence that it will last for years to come. Overall, while I feel the sound quality may not have changed dramatically, this acrylic platter has improved my record collecting experience in other meaningful ways. It’s a worthwhile investment for anyone looking to enhance their turntable’s appearance and functionality. Definitely recommend!

More than I had bargained for.
I needed a replacement slip-mat for the well-past-its-sell-by felt mat I had been using. I was looking for a something to avoid all dust and fibers that clung to the record every time I flipped it over. I had read in the description the claims that it had an effect on playback quality, and didn't believe a word - but i went ahead as it would still solve the dust, and perhaps the static issues. I binned the felt and placed this directly on my Thorens TT, which feeds into a Cambridge Audio Solo Pre-amp , then a modest Marantz PM6006, and Monitor Audio speakers - not crap, but not really high end either. The sound was difference to my ears was quite something. Clarity was improved, less muddy and fuller bass. Just a sweeter and tighter sound, and with no static crackles. I did not expect that sonic difference, and I am well pleased. Thank you. Well worth the investment!

It’s a good slip mat but……
Good slipmat but gives to much echo and resonance to the sound! I bought this to set my anti skate and am using a cork slipmat for playing the vinyl! Well made and well worth the money but alters sound to much, I use an AT XP5 cartridge with elliptical styli, if you use something else you may get different results!

Ok
Not the best. A little too flexible. Preferably something a little stiffer would work better.

What sorcery is this?
When I first started collecting records way back in my youth, acrylic slipmats simply didn't exist. In recent times, I've started to hear good things about them, and decided to see what all the fuss was about, hence purchasing this particular item. My current set-up is far from what you'd call an audiophile system; I'm running a stock Rega Planar 1, paired with my ancient Arcam Alpha 1 amplifier (which has followed me everywhere I've been for over thirty years!) and a pair of Mordaunt Short MS15 speakers. Again, this is hardly high-end audio reproduction kit, but more than good enough for my relatively simple needs. The slipmat arrived today, and was in perfect condition; no marks, scratches, or any other nasties to speak of. First off, it looks great sitting on my matte black turntable, and that's just the beginning of the story. Surface noise has been significantly reduced, and the overall soundstage feels deeper and more detailed. Long story short? I simply can't believe the difference a very modest investment has made to the sound, and couldn't hesitate to recommend this enough. I'm a true convert to acrylic now!

Great value for money
I wasn’t expecting much from this acrylic platter but once I received in the mail it was thicker than I anticipated much higher quality acrylic and looks good on my record player. If you have any translucent resin vinyls the white really makes the colours pop.

Platter Mat - Better than Rubber?
In the 'snake oil' debate filled world of hifi the option to couple of de-couple your records from its environment rage. This 'cheap' option is still a major upgrade from a flimsy rubber mat. VTA was fine. Further the mat fits neatly. I added a silicone flex washer as well for extra spindle clamping/damping As to whether it sounds better - "of course it does". Can it be improved, "of course it can". Life is not meant to be taken too seriously. I bought the mat for an upcoming review to compare various options that I have, including a HexMat (which is in the post...) :) I use a weighted clamp (RDC) to apply load to a record so now have a well-coupled- solution on my 70's Trio TT. #HappyDays
