Big Bike, Really Great.
I've had this bike (The Soumye 48V 750W Step-Over Beach Cruiser) for only about twelve hours, so if I find anything different from what I've written here, I'll update this. First of all, this is a REALLY big bike. It's huge. My wife calls it "The Hummer of Bikes." When I ordered, the manufacturer actually called to make sure I was over 5'9". I'm 6'1" and 300 lbs. but this is still a big bike. That being said, if feels so great, driving around on it. I'm over 60 years old, but can still tilt it enough to get my leg over, but for other older people, I would probably recommend the step through model. This came mostly assembled. I just had to put on the front wheel, the handlebars and the front fender. My wife and I are both over 60, as I said, and not particularly handy, but had little trouble, though it took about forty-five minutes. There was one problem and I called customer support, who walked my through a comical assembly error on my part, and had me fixed up in about five minutes. This came packed really well, and the tools they sent along were surprisingly good.I immediately went on a four-mile ride. This was the first bike ride I've taken in years (maybe decades) and I had so much fun. I didn't go off-road, but some of the streets around here are pretty crappy. Between the suspension and the fat tires, it was awesomely smooth. I used the peddle assist, but found that it's really easy to get going from a stop, by just pulling the throttle back, instead of trying to push off. I tried all seven gears and all five pedal assist settings. The fastest I got up to was 18.4 mph, but that was going slightly uphill (fourth gear with pedal assist setting 5). I also tried pedaling with the motor off. It was surprisingly doable, but I don't plan on doing it if I don't have to.Overall, I am super pleased with this bike, and having compared the price to some of the offerings in stores near me, it was a really great price. The build quality is excellent. Just make sure that you're tall enough to handle it.Update: I've had the bike about a week now and continue to love it. I've ridden more than 35 miles so far. I'm amazed at the power and the battery life. I've only recharged it once. I do bring the battery inside when I'm not using it, as it's hot where I live. I had a small cosmetic piece near the sprocket break. I contacted customer support and they sent me a new piece, and even emailed me when it was shipped (the next day). It didn't stop me from riding, as I said, it was just a cosmetic piece. Finally update: I've gone 100 miles and still love this bike. I fixed the broken piece and have had no other problems. I fell off once, but thanks to my bike helmet, wasn't hurt. WEAR A HELMET! Since then we have purchased another (more expensive) bike for my wife, but the Soumye compares favorably with it. Overall, I still prefer my Soumye Cruiser, even though it was $300 less. This is, a really good bike, at a very, very good price.

2 year update
Ive only had this bike for 1 week and I can tell I am going to love it. It is still bitterly cold up here in Northwest Pa, but I have already ridden it 30 miles. On top of that i still have 50% charge left from its first initial charge. I am 61 yrs old, 6 ft 250 lbs and not in great shape (yet), so I wanted something that can give me some substatial assist after a long ride. This one definetly has done that. I am not mechanically inclined at all, and I had it together in less than an hour....really taking my time. This bike is big and sturdy...I would not suggest for those shorter or much lighter in stature. I was a bit hesitant about the 4" wide tires because i knew it would be more work pedalling it with no assist. Indeed it is more work, but I DID buy it for the exercise, so when i tire i can just kick into assist mode. Additionally, the roads up North here are not as smooth as those down South, there are lots of stones along the berms and the fatter tires makes the ride very comfortable. It also leaves me with the option of being able to ride along the beaches of Lake Erie, or some of the local off road trails. So why not 5 stars???? After I had the bike assembled and while on my first test ride, I realized this bike is NOT 21 speed/gears, but only 7 speeds. I could have sworn the description said 21 speed?? When I got back I double checked the description, and indeed it does say 21 speeds. When i contacted customer support, he was adamant that the description of 21 "speeds" was correct, and that if I read further in the description, that i would see it has a Shimano 7S gear system so I should have known it was only 7 gears. Well kudos for him on answering my my call on the 2nd ring, but I still find this quite misleading. There are 4 levels of pedal assist and 7 gears, so I "guess" one could say there are 28 speeds, so im not sure how he arrived at 21??? I DID NOT want to send the bike back, I am quite happy with 7 gears/speeds i just wanted him to know that the description is at the least misleading. I thought he might be thankful, throw in a spare inner tube, take $25 off...but instead his was quite indifferent and dimissive. Minor to me, might be more than minor to someone else.Summer update: i indeed love this bike. I go on 30 mile bike rides, average 15 mph in 2nnd level, still get a great workout cause i mainly use assist, and i have a 50% charge left when i get home. I feel like a kid again exploring. Over 400 miles as of aug 1st.UPDATE JULY 2024: Currently have over 2,000 miles on this bike with no issues. Battery still holds incredible charge. My buddy and I have a 50 miles excursion we take...I still have 2 bars left, but I really wouldn't want to go any further. ( my buddy needs a spare battery swap). This week I did a 35 mile trip in high heat...I physically wasn't feeling well with about 5 miles left so I used throttle only mostly and still had 4 bars left. I have met lots of ebikers during those 2,000+ miles....this is definitely one of the largest and sturdiness out there. Too big for my wife, my son in law...it is for larger men.

A good bike
It took me longer than expected to grade the bike for the test run. The bike is of good quality overall and is a good price. The frame is constructed from 6061-T6 aluminum alloy and features top-notch Shimano and Prowheel parts, including a derailler and a rear freewheel with 7 speeds and 14–28 teeth, and a front chainring with 46 teeth and Additionally, the staff in Los Angeles, California, provided excellent customer service.I gave this bike a four-star rating because of the control choices for the pedal assist speed (PAS). Level 1 is roughly 8 mph max, Level 2 is 13 mph max, Level 3 is approximately 18 mph max, Level 4 is approximately 29 mph max, and Level 5 is approximately 35 mph max for the PAS at 100% power input. During the test, I mostly used settings 1 and 2 of the PAS mode. With levels 3 through 5, I solely used the throttle control because the top speed of 18 to 35 mph was too fast for paddling.
