ACDelco GM Genuine Parts 15-20227 Air Conditioning Compressor and Clutch Assembly

Brand new and quiet. The original R4 compressor was very susceptible to failure and noisy to boot. The noise has been reduced with slightly redesigned innards. Original equipment may prevent the incidence of failure. Amazon helped with a prompt exchange for a seized part. A retrofitted modern part is an option, but if that is not feasible, the R4 is a pretty good performer. Currently, at more than 100°F ambient temperature, output is 42°F at center vent. This is a good unit for the Valley of the Sun.

I bought this compressor for a R134a retrofit on my 85 corvette. since it's a delco service replacement, installation was pretty much plug and play without any guess work. I also purchased the correct accumulator/dryer, again AC Delco. center duct temps around 40° even with the hot florida summer temps. it's been about a year now - no issues.

Item was received well packed and ready to use. Installed without any problem and work really great. Have ice cold ac now.

Fit my 89 Trans am TTA perfectly. Clutch plate looks different but still works as is and it's a 6 spline pully. You must take your high pressure switch from your old compressor and put it on to the new one. It's easy and has a sealed plug in it's place.

Very good compressor but the first one I purchased was bad. Fortunately, I purchased it through Amazon so the return was easy and a the replacement worked great.
