One Day Fiance

This was the first book I’ve read by Lauren Landish. The title and cover caught my eye on KU so I thought I’d give it a go.Initially I found it a little difficult to get into. I can’t really pinpoint a reason why, but I just felt a bit of a disconnect with the characters, but at about 20% I think it all changed and it started to draw me right in.Conner is an art thief who collided with an absolute whirlwind in author Poppy and she somehow manages to coerce him into a fake fiancé story in order to get her stolen laptop back. The fun for me really did start with their adventures together. Their chemistry was great and it did bring the 🔥, Connor really did sound HOT and I loved the protective instincts coming across. Poppy made me laugh out loud at times with what she’d say or do. I’m glad I stuck with it, because once I got over that initial hump, the journey it took me on was worth the ride and I’ll be looking at picking another book up by Lauren for sure.

I was a bit confused by this book it was good but just very slow and boring that's my reason for four stars then it got really ok poppy should have been put in prison she was a b it of a nutter and quite violent but there was some funny moments

Poppy is a writer suffering from writers block until she runs into Connor. Connor is an art thief who drags Poppy into his world. Poppy is gregarious, sweet, beautiful and talented. Connor is closed off, hot, protective, possessive and grumpy. Connor tries to let Poppy go, but she decides he is worth all the trouble. This book has a little drama, lots of laughs and interesting characters. It made me think of a tv series about an art thief working for the FBI, which I really enjoyed. Definitely worth the read.

Good strong characters and an interesting storyline with some funny moments and putdowns . The continual referring to the incidental crimelord character as "Mr Big" made me think of the lover in " sex in the city. "Overall a good read.

Fake fiance stories are ten a penny, but this was a cut above the average. Poppy and Connor were a great lead partnership and I laughed my way through this warm and low angst story featuring a memorable romance author and sexy art thief. Strong characterisation and entertaining plot made this book a winner.

Absolutely loved this book. Couldn't put it down. Really loved the strength in Poppy and Connors moody but calming influence. I could have read more and more about this family and its dynamics. Brilliant written by Lauren Landish. I'd give it 6 stars if I could xx

A book about an art thief and an author. She is a zany character and he is clever and sexy. A book that makes you laugh out loud but has serious parts as well. The humour and innuendo is a craft in itself. Loved this one

Had the best time reading this book. I liked that Poppy had a crazy sense of humour & wasn't afraid to show it. With all of Conor's layers & secrecy he was still open to Poppy's eccentricity. Great mix, great story.
