If you have a house built before 2000, you probably have a 3 prong dryer outlet. I do, and I also have an EV that needs charging. The first thing was to get this adapter for my EV plug. It fits perfectly going from the old sryle 10-30 plug to the new 14-50 plug. It works seamlessly! This adapter is very well made. The cable is heavy gauge to send all those amps to your car. The big gauge wire prevents the adapter from overheating, and melting. Another good feature about this adapter is that it isn't all black wiring. The end are a nice blue to make it easy to see. The best feature? It is plug and play. Other adapters are plug in, but they also come with an extra ground wire that you have to attach somewhere. Easy peasy! It is a fantastic value as you don't have to hire an electrician to do your install.

I bought this as well as the splitter from the same company. Both were superior quality & well built. This item converted my older dryer plug to the newer type. It worked perfectly allowing me to split the dryer plug & covert the old plug to a new version. This was exactly what I needed. I now can use 220 volts instead of 120 volts to charge my eV. Instead of only getting 5 miles per hour of charging using a standard wall plug, I now get 32 miles per hour of charging.

Reliable got the job done cable felt fine during high voltage

Bought this to plug into a standard 3 prong 220 dryer outlet and then connect to my level 2 EV portable charger. Use it at AirBnBs to keep my Ioniq 6 topped off. Works perfectly. Of course I drop the Amps down to 24 in the charger to not overheat any circuits. This adapter has earned a permanent spot in our portable charger bag on long trips.

Great adapter for use with Tesla charging cable. Make sure you MANUALLY set the maximum charge rate to 24A for safety. Fits very snugly into the dryer outlet I used it on, seems well made and likely to last. Checked with thermal camera after running a charge at 24A for about an hour and it only got up to 77 degrees F.

It tested it to charge my ev using dryer. I made sure to turn the Amp to 24A after seeing all the melted pluds and reading into the issue on why that would happen... It works fine and no overheating no burning but the fit isn't snug for my charger cord and that makes me uncomfortable so I decided to return it. If your charger plug fit Snug this might be a good option as a back up. I don't think using this long term routinely is a good idea that charge your car .. I am returning. I'll just add a 14-50 plug

So far so good for 2025 Equinox EV. Had an existing 50 amp circuit with 6-50P plug. This adapter allows me to use the stock ESEV charging cable that came with the car that had a 14-50 plug. This particular stock charger only draws 32 amps so I am now charging at 24mi/hour. i have experienced zero issues with this new adapter cable generating any heat. It connects snuggly to both my existing plug and the ESEV car charging cable. This adapter connector allows my level 2 charging at my house for the price of this adapter.
