Can the string be replaced with nylon strings or do you have to use steel strings?l

Controversial topic since there’s a lot of different types of strings on their own sub categories, but generally speaking on all guitars you can use whatever strings you want. Not necessarily limited, just note that some guitars sound better with steel strings over nylon, or the opposite applies.

What size strings did you use?

The original strings that came with the guitar, probably not the best, but acceptable - probably thin/light gauge I'd say. I've got a 12-string set of good strings that are medium gauge now, but I'll wait to swap them after I've gotten more use with the originals - the guitar came with an extra set as well. I still love the guitar and have sanded down the bottom of the saddle twice now to lower the string action - it's perfect now, the strings are close to the frets without buzzing or vibrating against them independently.
