Table opening exactly 2 inches. This fit well. Screwed right together - 30 second install. Yes, hard plastic, which will probably fail sometime. Original part failed after ten years, will be happy to get that with this replacement.

The basic idea behind the design of this hole ring plug set is good, but the lower ring doesn’t have enough of a lip on it to create a tight fit for some tables. My patio table hole is 2 and ¼ inches in diameter, so the lower ring is a little too small. It slips partway into the hole and won’t lie flat against the table when it is tightened. I was determined to make this work because I couldn’t find anything else that would fit my table. I went to the hardware store and bought a thick rubber tub drain gasket that stretches perfectly around the plug. I put the plug through the hole, slid the gasket onto the plug, and then secured it with the lower ring. It feels really sturdy now and should work well with the umbrella. If the lower ring had the same outer diameter as the upper ring, then this could probably accommodate slight variations in table hole sizes. If I were the manufacturer, I would make a wider lip on the lower ring to increase its outer diameter. I would also have more colors such as white, beige and gray, available.

I’m pretty pleased with us. We are about a week in. I saw a review that said it fits a 2 1/4 inch table hole, and I will verify that it seems to be true. It seems sturdy in there, like it’s not going to slip out of the hole. We have a heavy umbrella with only poles – no base. Our table has a hole in the glass top, and then 2 underneath that at varying levels. I was concerned about the glass breaking, because the holes are slightly bigger than the umbrella, so the umbrella a tilted. I wanted to get something to give the glass top a little more support. It really has made a difference, and I assume it will help to protect the tabletop. It does lean slightly, but is definitely better. (And I tend to be too picky/perfectionistic sometimes.) Don’t know how it will hold up in the hot sun, but it’s cheap enough that we could replace next year if needed.

Very easy to install works great with the table

This product is subject to cross threading. It will do its job but requires extreme care. It is premium priced and poorly made or engineered. I would advise that the initial threading be done outside the install to get the feel. Then carefully thread it into the table with the table on its side so threading can be carefully monitored and aligned. Get it properly installed and it looks great.

The SUQ I OME Parasol Umbrella Hole Ring Pl was needed to replace a similar hole ring. The first replacement I got was flimsy plastic and didn't fit properly. The SUQ I OME fits perfectly because of the anchor that is screwed in underneath. The plastic is heavy and sturdy. This is exactly what's needed to protect my glass table and still have an umbrella.
