Fantastic quality but I prefer the cheaper smaller basic ones.
These body fat calipers are definitely solid in terms of build and accuracy—they feel professional, like the kind you’d find in a legit gym or used by someone who says things like “macros” unironically. That said, they’re a bit big and bulky for home use. I gave them a try but kept going back to my basic plastic ones without the fancy spring. They’re just quicker, simpler, and less intimidating when you’re half-dressed and pinching your own belly. These are great if you want something sturdy and pro-level, but for quick check-ins at home, they might be a bit much.

Works great.
Easy to follow instruction, included chart calculates BF%. I'm sure it's not perfect but easy more accurate than a smart scale.

consistent results limited by user skill
These calipers do their job. Pinch your skinfolds to measure your subcutaneous fat. In that role, they do great. I'm able to measure down to 0.5 mm precision. The only variation is when I pinch a skinfold in a different location. Incredibly repeatable day-on-day. If you have problems with the resulting body fat result, then it's the original equation you have a problem with, not the measurement tool. There is a better equation that was developed based on DEXA measurements. It adds 8% to my results and is more believable.

Spring loaded in a bad way
Using it, it pinches the skin, leaving red marks and also leading to inaccurate measurements. I should have shelled out for a more expensive one that doesn't act like a sfw medieval torture device.Edit: I received a notice from the seller saying that my issues with this device could be ameliorated by removing one of the springs. I removed one of the springs and this did improve things. I'm only increasing my review by one star though, since it took way too long to remove one of the springs. I tried pulling at it with pliers, disassembling the device, spraying it with WD-40. Eventually I used a pair of wire cutters to cut through the spring, Alexander the Great style. It shouldn't be that difficult to make this thing useable. I would still recommend people buy a different one just from the sheer hassle involved in getting this to work properly.

Great calipers, better than Slim Guide or computerized calipers
High quality skinfold calipers at an affordable price. Suitable for J/P 3-site skinfold calculations to monitor my own progress without needing an assistant. A bit awkward to pinch myself with one hand and use the large caliper with the other, but doable. (Hint: don’t hold the calipers like a gun, just use the thumb and middle finger from the front while the readings are facing you)I recommend ditching the paper and using it with a free Body Fat Calculator on a smartphone to calculate and track your progress. This combination beats the more-expensive computerized calipers by a long-shot. My Fat Track 2/Gold is now collecting dust (after I just replaced the battery, for shame...)Very similar to the Slim Guide calipers, but cheaper and better manufacturing quality. In comparison, the Slim Guide calipers have a rougher finish and need to be sanded down for comfort. I bought both, and prefer to use the Sequoia calipers. They both provide similar measurements, so comfort and price wins. These are also in a totally different class from the Accu-Measure 3000 click-style calipers, which I could never get consistent measurements from. Spring-loaded calipers remove some of the potential for human error.

Inaccurate. Not useful.
Bottom line: DO NOT BUY. The caliper is inaccurate. I am a regular person. Not obese. Not svelte. The caliper offered a "9-10%" of fat. That is not accurate in any universe.Pros: None.Cons: Inaccurate. Clunky. Hard to measure and read (no "lock" or easy to read markings).
