PURE ORIGINAL INGREDIENTS Spirulina Powder (1 lb) Green Algae Superfood with Phycocyanin

Note that I use this powder as the main ingredient for homemade algae wafers for my fish. Seems to be a good product.

There is no lie this stuff has a very fishy odor, but boy is this one of the best out there. It’s super healthy and is a great add in your smoothies. There are so many health benefits, but knowing I’m purchasing the real deal is all the better.

I read a lot of review. So many people being so petty over it comes in a bag. It does come in a paper bag lined with a plastic zipper. I am not a packing nut so it doesn’t matter to me. If you open it carefully-cause it is a fine powder- it doesn’t go all over. The ziplock on mine wasn’t the greatest, so I just folded over the top and put a binder clip to keep it sealed. Now, getting beyond that. It is vacuum sealed so it arrives very tightly packed like a brick. It’s not a brick. I take 1 teaspoon a day in a glass of ice water that I drink throughout the day—someone suggested that on here, and that’s how I started and I do it too. I just keep adding water and ice to my cup all day to really get all the powder. It doesn’t change the taste of my water enough for me to not drink it. I have read it takes up to 3-4 weeks to truly notice the effects. However, I have lost about 3-4 lbs so far. I am not sure if it’s all the water I’m drinking, or what. But I’ve always been a big water drinker and never lost weight, so I’m figuring it’s this added benefit. I have added it to soup—but it will turn it green. It didn’t change the taste. I’ll update in a month and see whatelse comes about. But so far, I put it on a subscription.

If you are looking for a baby poop green food dye, this is the one. If you are looking for a blue food dye like I was, you will be quite disappointed. The description and picture depicted the powder as a light greenish blue when it is actually the darkest green I think I’ve ever seen. I was told this would be a good substitute for blue food dye but I would personally go with something different. Other than that little mixup, the packaging was very nice and easily resealable. I would say it is essentially flavorless. It mixes very well with frosting. Overall, if you are looking for a blue food dye this isn’t the one. However, if you are looking for the health benefits I would say it will probably go really well in a smoothie.

Good price for 16 oz. of Spirulina. Helps to remove heavy metals from the body, which is what I was hoping to achieve.

Bought to feed my Daphnia. Apparently daphnia need live algae. This just soiled the water so I'm back to growing algae to feed my daphnia to feed my Betta.

There is a slight fishy smell and I mean slight, but to expect a algae to not smell somewhat fishy is unrealistic. I take 1 tsp every morning and fill half of my shaker with water and shake it, it gets foamy and kinda thick, I take my 22oz mug and fill 3/4 with water and ice and top it off 4xs a day with this concoction, this ensures I get a good water intake through the day. I will be purchasing this again.
