Great end to a great series!
I love this series so much!! It had everything: enemies to lovers, found family, smut, swoon worthy romances, kick ass female lead and awesome secondary characters. This conclusion to the series did not disappoint, and I can't wait to read more about the side characters!

A Heart Full Of Love And Fire
Catalia Fisa has much to accomplish in this adrenaline-charged, emotionally rich and sometimes heartrending, roller coaster conclusion to The Kingmaker Chronicles, HEART ON FIRE. Cat faces fierce battles, not all of which are physical, a challenging quest, and finds herself thrown into one particularly dark and difficult ordeal. Together, Cat and Griffin are forging a new world between the three previously separate and often warring provinces of Tarva, Sinta, and Fisa. Cat’s greatest struggles result not only from her seriously evil and vicious mother’s actions, but her own fears and lack of confidence. Cat desperately needs to figure how to use her frustratingly erratic God-given powers which will enable her to be triumphant. Her path to victory comes with many hard choices. In Cat’s realm, doing what is right and honorable is rarely easy and often dangerous. She has the perfect man at her side in Griffin whose love and confidence helps Cat become everything she is meant to be. With his unconditional love and unwavering support, Griffin shows Cat no matter where the journey takes her, he will be there. Her own worries and self-doubt are perhaps the truest enemy if not the most tangible one. Cat sees herself as too damaged to be the queen she is destined to be. Griffin's love and support empowers Cat to overcome self-loathing and crippling uncertainty giving her the strength to take wing and fly.By embracing her true purpose instead of fleeing it, Cat becomes the embodiment of “Elpis” which means hope; her destiny is to unite Thalyria. She wants the people to see life can be good when lived with joy and peace rather than brutality, neglect, and the abuse they have known. Cat must convince herself though as well that the Gods are on her side. However, the Gods are often far from benevolent; Cat finds their interactions less than helpful and frequently maddening. The capricious meddling Gods have quite a few surprises, not all of them pleasant, in their plans for her and Griffin. Cat’s family, those who are blood and ones claimed as such, also figure greatly into this epic tale. The harder Cat fights, the more her mother, Andromeda, unleashes her immense abilities as Cat’s most powerful and painful enemy. Soon to become a mother herself, Cat has even more reason to fight with every fiber of her being to establish a new world order.Cat embodies my favorite kind of fantasy heroine. I love the combination of her courage, strength, stubbornness, and self-sacrificing loyalty thrown together with a little bit of crazy, but laced with humor to lighten a very heavy load. Cat never gives up or loses hope though she may falter in the darkest places. I thoroughly enjoyed this exceedingly well done book. Truthfully, there are some very painful places further demonstrating Amanda Bouchet’s skills as a writer who can elicit all variety of emotions from readers taking them on a journey to places of deep joy interwoven with heartbreaking agony, and other equally intense feelings along the way. The world and characters Amanda Bouchet has created hit all the right marks of action, adventure, and romance. It is such a pleasure to read a very satisfying and well-wrought end to this most enjoyable trilogy. I am left thinking about the characters long after the story has ended and longing for more. I can think of no higher compliment.

Beautiful trilogy
The Kingmaker Chronicles Trilogy was such an enjoyable read for me.The first book caught me unaware in a glorious world where magic and love and Gods were perfectly balanced. I love discovering new author and I have to say with just a few chapter into the book Amanda Bouchet had made my list of author to follow. The mythology is really interestingly added to the story of a girl who hide even from herself. In this last book we had the conclusion of how Cat from the Circus becomes Catalisa Thalyria.Overall I found this book really good as a self-discovery process, which was a redundant problem for Cat. Griffin continue to be a constant help and focal point for her. We see budding relationship with others, and glimpse into their lives. The only negative point for me would be how we're left hanging for secondary characters.I love lengthy epilogue with everyone settled and happy. I can understand how that's not always possible but I would have love to know about Jocasta and Flynn and Ianthe and Lycheron and Bellanca etc etc But that's just me not wanting to leave a world I loved from the first few pages.

An Exciting Conclusion!
Heart on Fire is Amanda Bouchet's thrilling conclusion to the The Kingmaker Chronicles, but the world series is far from over as we all know now, Amanda is returning to it next year! In this story we will get the end of Cat and Griffin's story arc as they plan to battle with Cat's mother in order to save their kingdom.Cat and Griffin are basically preparing for a war with Cat's mother in order to save their kingdom and the neighboring ones. It's their hope that they can ban together and get back the land that is rightfully theirs. Cat is also pregnant and while trying to protect her unborn child from her nasty mother, she's also learning a thing or two about her pregnancy and just how special her child will be.One thing I've forgotten about this series, is how simple the plot is. This truly is Cat and Co. readying for a battle. Yes, there's more to it than that, but at the same time, there's not. The readying for war is what takes place the most in this one. We watch as Cat and Griffin have to overcome small battles, gain allies, train those allies, and of course, yet more small battles.Cat also does a bit of self-discovery/self-realization in this one. She's coming to terms with how her life has turned out and the role the gods and goddesses have played in it. True, she's known some of this already, but it's all coming together now to form the big picture.Cat is a fantastic heroine! I love that she's so fierce and brave, and never afraid to speak what's on her mind. Her interactions with Griffin have always been a delight, from the teasing to the romantic moments and there are still plenty of those! Cat being pregnant does not stop the romance between these two! While we get to see Cat and Griffin's ending, I can't help but wonder for some of the other characters in the series. While we know the new book will focus on Jocasta and Flynn, I still have questions for a few of the others who we briefly saw here and there, but never got to learn of their fates. I haven't quite learned if the new series will be another trilogy that follows them, or if it will touch on some of the other characters I'm not fully mentioning for minor spoiler purposes. Time will tell I guess! The Kingmaker Chronicles is the perfect fantasy series for those looking for a magical adventure series coupled with humor, romance, and of course a good deal of action! This series was a delight to read and I cannot wait to continue reading more of this world in the coming year!Overall Rating 4.5/5 stars

Five Stars from an unlikely Romance reader
I LOVED this series. The best part is the heroine, Cat: she is so REAL, and flawed, and interesting. Amanda Bouchet writes easily and well and sucks you right in from the very beginning. I love her character development as well as the action scenes. This series was my first foray into the Romance genre and honestly, I was surprised and delighted to find it was so well written, with so much more action and plot development than I ever thought I'd find in the Romance genre. None of the three books in he series are even close to being mushy or trite; on the contrary they are thoughtful, intelligent, perceptive, subtle, and amazingly full of depth. My heart stayed with Bouchet's characters throughout the series, and I am sorry to have it end. Unlike other reviewers, however, I don't mind having unanswered questions at the end. Life rarely wraps things up neatly, and having those loose ends makes the series and characters more real, and leaves me to ruminate more on the characters and plot long after I've finished the book. I love a good story that stays with me, and this is one of them.
