These are great goggles the suction is superior, no water in my eyes thank god! It’s great for blocking the sun! The band for the back of the head is very soft and easy to use. This is the first pair of swimming goggles I actually like. And the price is so good to top it off anything like this is $$$ would buy it again!

They say, “swimming is the time for self reflection.” But I don’t think they meant that literally...in your goggles!! Wow! I really wanted to like these goggles! So many great reviews I figured, what could go wrong? Turns out that was the wrong question. And I have to say I’m surprised that in the list above with all the options to give a star value to, visibility is not listed. I had to give low stars because I don’t recommend these goggles at all...but the options for star values were all good until I actually started swimming!! But more on that later. I had read several reviews that mentioned how big they were...and turns out those peeps were not exaggerating...not even a little bit! In fact when I opened them...I felt like Buddy the elf...and even did my own impersonation...”have you seen these goggles...they’re gynormous?!!?” But that really wasn’t a problem...because when I first tried them on I changed my tune real quick to...”oooh...these are really comfy!” I did everything the instructions said...I adjusted to the right suction and soaked them before use. Then what’s the problem...you may be asking...good question! The problem is they’re mirrored outside and inside. Which caused me to wonder if that were going to be a problem...but when I tried them on...I could see great! I was looking around...and they seemed like a dream! That was until I actually went and used them for their intended purpose...swimming! It all started when I broke a cardinal rule....not the golden cardinal rule of “don’t try anything new on raceday...” but the silver cardinal rule of “don’t try anything new without bringing your trusty old...yes they maybe scratched up but turns out they’re amazing...set with you incase your new purchase is a major flop! rule.” And let me tell you...there’s a reason that rule is in place...because doing anything against that rule is pure foolishness! I swim in the river at sunrise...it’s my favorite thing to do...so when I elect to cut my swim short by over 1000yds and happily choose walk barefoot, back to my towel, on a rocky dirt trail...because I can’t take the frustration any longer speaks volumes!! Because I am a weenie when it comes to walking on a rocky dirt trail without shoes!! But trust me when I say that was the best alternative in my situation! So let me back up...I get in the water...and I put on my goggles...they feel great...and looking around above water...they seem perfect! That is...until you actually put your face in the water and start swimming! As I’m swimming I’m realizing I can’t see anything underwater! And I literally mean I can’t see anything...that is because my own eyeballs were in my way!! That’s impossible you say! Well yes...one would think so...except remember when I mentioned the goggles are mirrored on the inside...well that’s where the problem comes in...because all you can see underwater are your own eyes staring back at you!! It would be creepy if it weren’t so frustrating! It reminded me of a scene in Finding Nemo...where Peach the starfish thinks her reflection is her “sister” Flo. And she gets mad at “Flo” because she is in her way when she is trying to see out of the tank...she says,” Uhhg...I can’t see, Flo!” That’s what I felt like! Couldn’t see past my own eyes! So as I’m swimming out...I am pretty much swimming due east. So I had two thoughts...#1 maybe it’s just because the sun is right there...but I have never had a problem with my other goggles as far as that goes...the polarization has always been a lifesaver! But maybe coming back it will be better And #2 At least I have the sun straight ahead of me so I can stay on course. But seriously not being able to see was so disorienting and I felt like I was blind...because ultimately I was swimming blind! So I swim out to my normal turn around...and swim around the island and I am hoping that when I get over to where it’s more shady I can get a better idea of how these goggles were going to workout for me. Welp...I get over there and still no better at all!! So I swam a couple hundred more yards and finally just couldn’t do it any longer! I swam over to the shore, climbed up and out and began walking back to my start location where my towel is. To say that my normally wonderful morning swim was frustrating would be a complete and total understatement!! Like I said before they’re are actually comfy, and as you hope for in goggles...they kept the water out...but not being able to see under water is a huge problem! So trust me when I say...these guys are headed right back to whence they came! I will go find my TYR goggles and pay the extra money...because the other old adage that is right 99% of the time...you get what you pay for...and that is 100% true in this case!!
