With all the changes being made to the phone lines these days it seems that our beloved rotary phones may become non functional. Well not with our automatic pulse to tone converter. This snazzy little unit will AUTOMATICALLY convert your traditional pulse dial to a modern DTMF tone. Simply dial your phone as you normally would and the pulse will be converted and recognized by your modern phone line including many VOIP devices, and Cable TV Phone Adapters. There are an almost infinite number of phone and network combinations. We can not guarantee that this converter will work with your specific setup. Key Features of the Rotatone EXT Easy to install, just plug it in and start dialing Requires no modifications to your old phone Supports all standard rotary phones Converts 0-9 Pulse/Decadic dialing to DTMF tone Allows you to dial * and # on most rotary phones Six speed dial memories Last number redial feature Needs no batteries, no external power supply Advanced microprocessor control for accurate dialing Suppresses dial pulses on the line to stop double dialing faults Not effected by incorrect line polarity Configurable for non-standard dial layouts (Sweden, New Zealand) Does not interfere with ringer operation Supports a wide range of international telephone line voltages and currents Specially designed to tolerate low line voltages found on many VoIP boxes and ATAs Review: It works! - This works exactly as described. I'm not an expert, just did some research on wiring diagrams for these old rotary phones to get them to work. This will work with a new Comcast Xfinity service and XFI devices. Hopefully the video will help as I am not an expert and I don't do videos but I try to be as clear and concise as possible. I feel this one needed some explanation as well as some of the problems you might run across while you're trying to bring these old phones back to life. Worth the effort for all the nostalgia these phone bring back when they are working again! Disclaimer...that is not my phone number on this phone. Review: Works great. Plug it into the wall, not the phone - Works great. I have a rotary phone plugged into a cellular base station that I bought from Walmart. Works fine. But first I plugged it into the back of the phone and it didn't work. Then I plugged it into the base station and it worked great.

Worked great
I have it hooked up to a Verizon home base. Works fine, just had to let it sit plugged in for about 15-20 minutes before it would dial out. On a side note, I forgot how laborious it is dialing a rotary phone.

Does not work with VoIP on an IP phone system such as Vopnage Business
I gave this item 5 stars, but to be fair I was not able to use this Pulse-to-Tone converter because it does not work with VoIP on an IP telephone system. This device is designed to work with analog phone jacks, not the ethernet ports found on a IP phone. I recently upgraded my Vonage VoIP service to their "Business" class, which is all digital and only works with ethernet connections ( great upgrade, BTW). Oldphoneworks was responsive on their support (thank you Matt), wish it would have worked. Looks like my old rotary will be dormant for awhile until I find another workaround. ;o(

The convertor box fraud.
I was recently forced to hook up my phone service to Comcast/Ixfinity. Comcast assured me that my rotary phones would still work with their service. They do not. When a technician came out and investigated, he was informed by his supervisor that they will not work. I then inquired about the pulse to tone convertor box. I was assured that the box would solve my problem. I bought the box and boy did I get took. The box does absolutely NOTHING. Amazon needs to yank this product.

Works to connect old rotary with digital land-lines
It was difficult to find this item, apparently not many people are trying to use a rotary dial in 2018... but I tested it on an old rotary dial phone using my digital land line and it works great. I can use the rotary phone to dial out. I think there were some reviews that the unit was hard to install, but they have since upgraded and it's a simple external adapter now. Plug and play.
