Dream Time
Buy now! This stuff is so good for sleep! I first found this product in a can (which I’m sure Amazon sells) then I found the powder! Get for travel! Love the fact it’s all vitamin based and tastes good. Not sure of the science behind it but it does help you drift off to dream world. Must buy for those who have issues falling asleep. I will be buying more and probably for a long time.

Bring Chill, Be Chill: A Gentle Boost for Mind and Mood
Recess Mood Powder offers a different kind of energy, calming, restorative, and easy to enjoy. With magnesium and adaptogens at its core, it’s a refreshing way to support your mood and overall well-being. Many people are deficient in magnesium, and this powder makes it simple to replenish while sipping something light and pleasant. It’s perfectly portable, making it great for travel, work, study, or nighttime relaxation. The taste isn’t too sweet and has a mild, sparkling effect that’s especially nice when cold. It blends well with water or any beverage of choice, and its subtle flavor pairs easily with other ingredients. This is a great option for anyone looking to add a little calm to their day, without the crash or overstimulation. Bring chill. Be chill.

Drink it Fast!
I purchased the sample pack, and I wanted to try quite a few before writing a thoughtful review. I noticed the reviews were very mixed, this product is expensive for what it is, and it is non returnable. I hope this helps you make an informed decision.(Do yourself a favor and make a slushy with ice, coconut milk, an orange creamsicle, the lemon citrus powder, and a touch of sweetener. Very yummy and easy!)Flavor/mouthfeel: this is not a drink powder that feels sparkly or tingly in your mouth- it’s flat like water. Be careful not to swallow down the wrong tube though, for it is very scratchy and uncomfortable. It is sweetened with monk-fruit extract, but it is definitely not a sweet beverage at all. If you have a high sugar tolerance like me, you might be a bit dissatisfied. My personal preference is the mixed berry flavor. I usually dislike citrus flavored things, but I do enjoy this powder.Effect: The calming effect is noticeable- when it does kick in. Sometimes nothing happens. Sometimes I feel so relaxed I get the giggles. It seems like drinking multiple drinks in a row does not increase the effect, so don't waste a packet! I get best results when I drink it fast, as in 5-7 minutes. This is not like alcohol where you can (and should) just sip.Price: I was really disappointed that for what I paid, I did not receive the pretty box packaging. The powders came in a plastic bag that could not be resealed. I think that is tacky and dishonest. I should not have to go out and buy a container when there is a disposable one pictured.Overall, I would certainly recommend this as a relaxation beverage. I cannot imagine drinking this at a party as an alcohol replacement as the effect is much too mild. Have one at bedtime or on your patio this summer!

Consistency is key
My review is about effectiveness and not flavor/taste. I started drinking the canned Recess nightly, unintentionally, and noticed how much better I was sleeping and feeling steadier mentally throughout the day. And I would feel the difference if I skipped a couple days, but eventually I kind of forgot about it until I saw the powder form at a store and resumed. Along with sleeping better I think it helps my mood through out the day and I feel sharper when I need to focus or be creative.I already take a blend of other forms of magnesium and tend to take 2x-3x the RDA because that’s what feels best, but I think my experience is a testament to how effective l-threonate is. I believe drinking it in either the carbonated or powder form has more of a placebo effect for me in the moment and that the real benefit is in consistency. This powder is great for taking it as a supplement (as opposed to drinking the can as a non alcoholic treat) and for ~$25 for 28 servings, not to mention the other ingredients, is a really good value. Magnesium l-threonate is the form that crosses the blood brain barrier, so it’s the only one that has real cognitive benefits. Recess uses a high quality form and this is a solid dose.I feel best when I use it along with several other forms of magnesium (you can get decent blends for ~$15/month) at a high dose, but staying at 250mg or less of each form. This take could be way off, but part of me thinks stacking the types like this delivers more mg l-threonate to my brain because the other forms are taking the load off of treating my other systems.Considering magnesium is one of the only supplements that every single person should be taking, and this is one of the highest quality forms available, Recess is kind of missing the mark with their marketing of this because I had to piece together just how unique of a product it is. I would have started buying it in bulk years ago if they presented it seriously as a supplement to take consistently vs a fun drink when you want to relax.

Excellent for stress management
First time using the powder version but I’ve been using the canned drinks for 6 years. Such a great brand and super effective for stress/anxiety relief. The powder is just as effective as the canned drinks. I’m pleasantly surprised to say that this “unflavored” version is truly flavorless because sometimes it’s not quite true with OTHER brands. This is great because you can add it to any drink you’d like. Minor feedback is that I wish it dissolved a little bit better, but it was just fine and not really an issue. I’ll definitely buy again. One of my favorite brands/remedies for stress management. I swear by it.
