the smell
I don't know if it's me or this perfume, but I couldn't smell much...just wasn't strong enough for me or maybe I need a better smeller....maybe my nose needs some work on...gave this bottle to a friend, she's crazy about it...oh well, glad someone likes it.

This beauty really cast a spell on me. I love the way the name rolls off my tongue, sounding like the title of a piece of classical music. I love its meaning- "Feline Moon". I love the way the bottle refracts light and the gold flakes glisten in its crystal depths. And I love the way this scent has taught me the value of taking time to get to know a challenging perfume- an idea to which I was fairly resistant until I sampled this earlier this year. Smelling this for the first time was a new kind of perfume experience for me. It wasn't love at first sniff- not the immediate, head-over-heels kind I'd experienced with previous loves, at any rate- but I was definitely intrigued and attracted. Lune Feline has something magical in it, I think, and I soon found that I just kept craving this exquisite woodsy vanilla scent, in spite of the perplexing medicinal accord that I wished wasn't in there. I never imagined I would eventually buy a full bottle of a fragrance this pricey, especially when I wasn't entirely sure I wanted to wear it at first. But to my surprise, my decant of Lune Feline ended up being the first sample vial of which I've actually worn every drop. It just kept drawing me back, and the challenging aspect of it seemed lessened each time as the medicinal scent began to feel less and less discordant, balanced as it was with the most deeply beautiful vanilla I've ever known in a perfume. As I became a little more familiar with it, I began to perceive a hint of a dark, delicious smokiness as well. When it was gone, I wasn't ready to say goodbye; I kept the empty vial just so I could keep on smelling it, and that's when I knew I had to have it. Now those medicinal notes don't bother me at all- rather, they just strike me as an acquired taste, and one that I certainly seem to have acquired! Who knows- maybe this is a medicine I needed. I will wear this on full moon nights and the most special of occasions, and treasure it as long as I can.

Fantastic unisex fragrance if you prefer woody/heady over sweet/floral!
I own a lot of perfume and EDT, having been a subscriber to bith a sampling service and PurpLux, and I’m pretty jaded. If a scent does’t grab me, I’m not moved to bother. This grabbed me immediately after the drydown. I love woody fragrances rather than sweet, floral numbers, and this one is heady, woody, a bit peppery, and very, very lightly musky — none of that heavy 70s stuff. I don’t detect the bitterness another reviewer spoke of, although I purchased elsewhere. This is truly a unisex scent IMO, and the first one I’ve forked over serious money (over $300 with tax) for in 50 years of buying, since there are so many good, affordable options if you don’t like too-sweet scents, such as 4711’s Kumquat and Myrrh (citrus and woody) or Obsession for Men by Calvin Klein. Or Myrrh Assoluto, which I can’t find anymore.BTW, if you want an excellent free resource with information about specific fragrances, try Fragrantica online. They do not sell scents, but are an online encyclopedia of fragrance. If Amazon carries a fragrance, however, they will virtually always have a direct link from that scent’s page here.
