Excellent leather lifting belt - great quality and reasonably priced
This review is for the ProFitness leatherlifting belt in small. I am in no way affiliated with this company or vendor, and I was not provided anything in exchange for this review. Before buying this belt, I did extensive research on lifting belts. I wanted a leather belt that would last for life, but I also didn't want to pay over $50. The Inzer Forever Belts, while really nice, were just a tad out of my price range. Perusing Reddit and fitness forums, folks seemed to suggest a 4" non-tapered leather belt, so that was my goal. After all my research, it came down to this belt and the Dark Iron Fitness leather lifting belt. From what I can tell from pictures, the two seem nearly identical apart from price (the ProFitness was a few dollars cheaper and had free same-day shipping) and the fact that the Dark Iron Fitness includes a lifetime warranty. I don't see any mention of a warranty on the ProFitness belt, and since I didn't notice the warranty on the Dark Iron Fitness until after purchasing this belt, I hope I don't regret my decision. I'm going to ask the vendor to clarify whether the ProFitness belt includes a warranty. MATERIAL - The leather is very thick yet pliable. It feels much more expensive than it actually cost and has a nice quality suede backing. STYLING - The logo is a tad large but is simple enough. I actually kind of like it. The red contrasting stitching looks really great against the black leather and won't show dirt quite like white stitching would (part of why I chose the red). BUCKLE - I'm glad that I opted for a double buckle. The buckle is very sturdy without being too heavy or bulky. It feels nice on and doesn't pinch, even when I'm carrying a little extra fluff around the midsection. I feel like I could like a ton of weight and the buckle would never fail on me. I do wish there were a small leather flap under the buckle like I've seen with a few other leather lifting belts, which would prevent the inevitable cold shock when the metal buckle touches bare skin in the case of my shirt riding up. FIT - Measured at navel level, my true waist measures 30.5" without cinching the tape measurer, so I decided on a small. This was the right choice. During lifts, I cinch the belt to the third set of holes from the end, which seems to serve a nice balance between not being able to breathe and having enough abdominal pressure. If I wear the belt over a thicker top or coat, the second set of holes works nicely. PERFORMANCE - I definitely saw an immediate improvement in my lifts, particularly squats. The belt allowed for exceptional intrabdominal pressure, and it kept my form tight. I instantly added weight to all my lifts. So far, I've used the belt for squats, deadlifts, and overhead press, and my form feels a lot more solid during max sets. I initially experienced some slight pinching during deadlifts, but I played with the position of the belt a bit, and it doesn't seem to be a problem now. All in all, this is a very solid, well-made leather lifting belt. I expect this to last for a long time and will hopefully update my review as a use this throughout the next few years. EDIT: I talked with Troy, the lovely gentleman who sells these belts, and it does come with a lifetime warranty. Highly recommend this product based on customer service alone - his responses were prompt and very friendly. Five stars.

Size medium vs small? Can’t go wrong either way
TL;DR: Great Product that is well built from a great company that will go above and beyond to take care of its customers I have been lifting for about 15 years. I wasn’t sure if I wanted a medium or small as my waist at my belly button measures 33-34” (5’7” 170 lbs 15%-ish Body fat) depending on the time of day and my dietary habits. I ordered a medium. Product arrived quickly. I wasn’t sure if I had ordered the right size still and sent a question on sizing to customer support and they Sent me a size small at no cost to me and told me to keep the medium! Plus, after you sign up for the LIFETIME WARRANTY they offer you an extra thank you present. We got their thick hip bands, which was once again no cost to us and also seem like a quality product. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE! Base upon how I was treated I have zero doubt they would take care of me if I had an issue and had to utilize the lifetime warranty. Now, As far as the product itself. I have had it for about 2 weeks. I got the red stitching and it looks very sharp. Belt seems very durable. As others have said it is somewhat pliable out of the box but still somewhat stiff so it offers great support and easy use even the 1st time using it! I am someone who tightens the belt down about as tight as possibly can when doing heavy deadlifts or squats and when I tighten down the medium as far as I can I still have 2 sets of holes left in the belt to tighten down further if I were to lose weight. When I do this with the small The prongs on the belt go into the 5th set of holes from the tip/end of the belt. (This is in a t shirt and in the morning before eating so my waist is measuring 33” and I can tighten down the belt a lot) Each belt has 12 sets of holes, so if you are like me and debating between medium and small, I would say depends on if you plan on losing or gaining any waist circumference and what else you may be using for (see below). I bought a chain and carabiner from Menards and loop it around the belt and through weight plates and use it to do weighted pull ups. I don’t tighten the belt down nearly as much for this. If I’m using my size small belt and usually have the prong on the last set or 2nd to last set of holes when doing this. Ultimately, I think either the small or medium would have worked well for me for my current build. If you like me and debating between sizes, You probably can’t go wrong but it just depends on how tight you wear your belt, what else you use if for, and if you have a partner that will be using it also. The bottom line: Great Product that is well built from a great company that will go above and beyond to take care of its customers.

FANTASTIC!!
What a great belt! I’ve had many versions but this one, by far, is a keeper. Good construction, thick but not overly. Good support and doesn’t dog into skin if u like to wear it under your shirt. The black w/ red stitching looks stunning. Makes you want to lift heavy! It stays in place without having to have it super tight where it is uncomfortable. The double ‘belt prongs’ fit well and keeps the belt on placer. Even a little Loose, it didn’t move out of place. I will say measure yourself according to their instructions. I ordered a medium & it was too small. The holes sit deep so you need a little extra room. I contacted their customer support and Farish (the rep) was GREAT. She was positive, quick to respond & I had a new belt in 4 days. That alone would make me check out their other products. Give the belt a try, I doubt you’ll be disappointed!!

Good belt for the price point
So I wanted to use the belt for a while before I wrote a review to see how it performs. First off, I do not lift in competitions so I can not speak from that standpoint. I have read some reviews saying it does not met competition standards. But for the everyday person who lifts weights this is a great belt !! The reason why I got this belt initially was due to the fact I was experiencing back pain after lifting. I noticed that once I got up to 225 lbs on bench press I was having random back pain. Since I started wearing the belt I no longer have random back pain inspite of increasing my weight on the bench press. I now routinely bench 275 lbs and higher and can report that I no longer suffer from random back pain. The main thing I will tell people who buy this belt is try to break it in before wearing it. I had no clue that was a thing with these leather belts. After one month I noticed it was much more comfortable to wear. My training partner told me there are known techniques to break in lifting belts, so make sure you do so after purchasing this belt. I definitely endorse this belt for non competition/professional weightlifters. I will probably buy another one in the future if this one fails due to natural wear and tear. I have owned the belt for a few months now with no signs that leather is cracking or structurally failing. Its a solid purchase. Oh I think the belt is why my overall bench press has improved due to the added stability it provides to my core.
