Roland, Anchovy Paste, 1lb Jar Product of Spain

Bought this because we go through Cesar salad dressing like it's water. I go through those little tubes so quickly and am always running out at the most inopportune times.Ideally, I would use jarred whole anchovies, but one jar is too many, and they don't seem to keep as well as paste does in the fridge.This jar of paste is great. I find no difference in the consistency and taste compared to the paste in the tubes that I used to buy. In fact, sometimes the tube paste would separate and the first squirt would be more oil than paste. This jar allows me to give the top layer a slight stir to incorporate the little bit of oil that sometimes does rise to the top.As quickly as we seem to go through those little tubes, we may not go through this jar before the product loses quality, but the cost definitely makes that acceptable.

I use this paste to make salad dressings and puttanesca sauce.Works wonderfully for both.Reasonable price makes it a good value.

Too good to be true, I thought I'd find a reasonable source for anchovy paste. But it had clearly gone bad, and was inedible. I've used anchovy paste many times, I'm used to the smell, the flavor, but the quality of this particular product was very low.

I have nothing but compliments for this product. I use it to smear on the bottom of a bowl prior to making a salad, and after the salad is made stirred up and it works excellent as anchovy paste does. Big bonus... This does not cost anywhere near as much as anchovy paste. If making a shrimp pizza or flatbread putting this paste on the crust as excellent flavor. You can get very creative on how to use this! Put on crackers hit a little bit of cream cheese and shrimp or fish... Yum oh, yum!

The product deserves 5 stars but I gave 3 stars since the bottle leaked in shipping. As this is food, it is not returnable. I, for one, will never order perishable foods from Amazon in future. They said that it cannot be returned because of "food safety issues". Well, when you get a jar of food that has leaked through no fault of your own, it's a food safeth issue on your end for which there is no compensation.

As I m anchovy in olive oil lover, this in water base anchovy is very different taste & flavor, very fishy. Yuk. But I figured out how to use in many ways, finely chopped, with olive oil, cilantro, etc. Good thing about this one is in salt & water, don’t get oxidised compare to oil base
