Gorillas: A Photographic Introduction to Our Closest Genetic Relatives for Kids (Ages 4-8)

This was one of the presents for my eight-year-old daughter’s birthday. She loves gorilla and I hoped that the love of the subject would get her to read the longer pages. It did, and she retained the facts, too! She keeps the book next to her bed in references it sometimes. Well written, beautiful pictures.

The images are fantastic My daughter loves gorillas and I’m constantly looking for books to teach her more this is fantastic the images are great the facts are interesting. I read it to my 3 year old and she loves it. When other people ask her about gorillas she recites what she learned from the book which goes to show it’s captivating for Information retention

I bought this for my toddler grandson along with Amazing Gorillas. He loves both of them as they have great gorilla pictures. I knew the language would be to hard for him to understand, but the he loves leafing through the pictures. He is constantly asking us to take him to the zoo to see the gorillas, so this is a nice tide over between visits!

Great higher level nonfiction text. Used as one of several sources for my students to research gorillas after reading The One and Only Ivan. Never disappointed with Seymour Simon. He is an amazing author of nonfiction text and a staple in my classroom.

It looks like a good enough book. I was hoping for a book for my toddler but it looks like it is really for older kids who can read really well because each page has a lot of text. I pictures are beautiful and there is at least one big picture per two page spread. My only complaint is that since it was sent USPS in a fold-able package it was folded to be out in the mailbox so now the cover and the pictures have a big crease across them.

This is the book I bought to go along with a stuffed gorilla and a copy of "Koko's Kitten". I am giving this 'collection' as a present to an 8 year old. I think he will love and learn from them.

Great book to read with a group of readers before reading The One and Only Ivan. It works well for fact finding and categorizing their research and helps them understand the main character in the fictional gorilla.

Adopted a Gorilla for my nephew from WWF and this was a perfect addition to the package, 9 year old nephew loves it.

Stunning photos of these truly beautiful creatures, sadly rate.

Ok book, got it for my child who wasn’t super interested.
