Already have two Vostok Amphibians. Fantastic watches but wanted an old school manual wind to round out the set. The Komandirskie does not disappoint especially if, like me, you grew up with watches that had to be wound daily. As far as accuracy, quartz watches have spoiled us. It's okay for a watch to be off by as much as half a minute a day, as long as it does that consistently from day to day (mine is +25 seconds a day, more than acceptable). If you set it a minute slow, then four days later it will be a minute fast. If you can live with a time window of +/- 1 minute, and most of us can, there's no reason to obsess with setting your watch every day. Vostok's Komandirskie is a solid, dependable, time piece that I would, and actually have, worn while performing military duties decades ago. Vostok's new titanium coating is perfect for a low-profile field watch, I much prefer it over the blingy chrome. Bottom line, don't expect quartz accuracy out of a watch like this, but if you want to have the vintage watch experience (Komandirskie was introduced in 1965 and has changed very little over the years) without making a huge investment, this is indeed a great little watch to get you started.

It represents the best from the Russian people, like their classical music. The good people of Russia need to be praised as much as the bad ones need to be condemned.
