I own and operate a small welding company... This hand control is essential for welding where I cannot operate the foot pedal. I installed this on my Vulcan protig 205. The Pros... It is a must have accessory for the vulcan and works as described. The Cons...It is extremely sensitive... just handling the torch can trigger the welder... I like the design as opposed to a thumb dial, however it could be a bit more robust. Will probably hold up if your careful and work at a fab table all day... But if you do alot of field work, or plan on buying this for an employee I could see it being easily damaged... time will tell. I would definitely buy this again, SSC is a fantastic company and I have nothing but good things to say about customer service.

Flimsy and fragile, so be careful. This is so much better than a foot control, but for the money this should have been made better. The trigger switch sticks or gets hung up constantly. However, welding on the floor or from underneath something is so much easier with this so I took the chance.

Works great! Has a ground wire that needs to attached to one of the housing fasteners.I will add a connector so I can switch out torches without tools.That and the lack of a bellows boot dust cover to protect the circuit board are the only real design issues.

The options for vulcan welder finger controls are far and few. For the price, this button works fairly well. Overall I'm happy I bought this, but I'm also a professional welder with a side business, so welding out of position happens frequently for me. Innthat regard, this button is a life saver. The variable amp settings are a nice feature but take a little getting used to. They allownyounto tail off your welds and prevent burn through on the ends of your welds. My biggest complaint is durability and basic function. One good fall on the floor and this button would probably shatter and you are down 150$. When pressing the button you have to press it absolutely square, any side to side pressure and the button gets hung up on itself and does not start. Overall I would recommend this product to a professional welder. It's made life a lot easier for me. But for the weekend hobbyists, I would pass until there are cheaper options. It seems well built and the plug works fine. It's supposed to have 4 positions of touch, mine seems to have high frequency and wide open. I ended up going back to my foot pedal. I would recommend doing more research or trying out one of these before buying this one.
