Q: Can I put it directly under laminate ?

Hello, the Luxheat mat can be installed under laminate but it must be covered with a leveling or self-leveling compound. The self-leveling compound provides a smooth, level surface for the laminates, as well as ensuring an even heat distribution throughout the floor.

Q: Can this system be used for LVT floors

Hello, the heating system will work under LVT floors. However its best to make sure you cover the heating mat sufficiently with a self-leveling compound as this helps ensure an even heat transfer. If the screed that covers the heating mat is too thin then you may experience a concentrate of heat directly above the heating wires. The the slightly thicker screed covering promotes a more even heat distribution. Please note: There are many different grades of LVT's so it'll be advisable to check with your supplier if the LVT you have is compatible with floor heating.

Q: What is the electrical draw difference between the 45 sq.ft. 120V & 240V radiant heat systems? How much is one over the other more economically?

Hello, both the 120v and the 240v systems have been designed in such a way so as to produce the same output. The 45sqft mat will produce 540 watts at 120v and 240v, the only difference will be the amp draw. The 120v system will draw 4.5 amps, and the 240v system will draw 2.25 amps. Both systems will heat-up the same and the running cost will be the same. A 120v mat must not be connected to a 240v circuit and vice versa. Hope this helps.
