Castello di Poppiano Laudemio Extra Virgin Olive Oil (500 ml)

Was just at Castle where they produce this Olive Oil in Tuscany on a Tour and ended up purchasing it after having a tasting. They served it with some good bread soak with this olive oil and a little sea salt and Peppercino flakes (fine lightly spicy pepper flakes the Italians use. It was excellent. You realize how good Olive Oil itself can taste when it's a good olive oil. I won't mention how much I paid for this bottle directly from the maker as it would be a bit upsetting :-) Next time you're in Tuscany, pick some up directly, you'll save a lot

The famous Tuscan oil is indeed excellent with fresh notes of herb and grass. It is strong, bitter and very pungent but yet very balanced by not going beyond a certain point of no return. Overall taste is very clean and the aftertaste is a little nutty and above all it's yummy. My overall rating is 96/100, fruitiness 7/10, bitterness 7/10, pungency 9/10.
