Rain BirdSWGE075 EZ Pipe/Swing Pipe Elbow Fitting, 3/4" Male Pipe Thread x 1/2" Barb, 10-Pack

Used to replace a broken fitting. Lubricated with some dish soap and it slid into the pipe and threaded into sprinkler head. No leaks. I'm satisfied.

The part has a 3/4" NPS thread and a hose barb that is undersized. A NPS thread (straight) will not tighten in a NPT (tapered) threaded part. All 3/4" common sprinkler heads have NPT threads.The barb has a true max OD dimension of 14mm. It should be 16.5mm. The difference sounds small but underground sprinkler hose is hard, and even with a very high torque applied to a screw clamp the fitting easily twisted by hand in the clamped hose. Two stars because, in a pinch it would work, with leaks. The manufacturer needs to change their tooling and get it right.UPDATE 6/26/22 - I stand corrected. Not all hard plastic underground pipe has the ID (5/8") I bought at Menards (100' roll). Apparently, Rain Bird brand 1/2" pipe has an ID of 1/2". SO,,,, bottom line, be very careful regarding these details. I did just buy 1/2" elbows from our local Lumberjack Hardware where the elbow barbs are 5/8". However, the 3/4 thread is NPS and does not tighten properly.

Might need to use Teflon tape if there’s a drip.

They are NPS or MPS or MNPS- male national pipe thread straight (not tapered). Other than that, they are fine

Not a good fit for this system.

you should use Rain Bird 1/2" inside, 3/4" outside SWING PIPE. that will be a perfect match. do not use 5/8" outside pipe. the home depot SKU# 1001493134. I hope this might help someone.

Product is not what I expected… when you say 3/4 inch elbow, I assume both input and output would be 3/4 inch.. that is not the case.
