Quick and easy replacement. Much less expensive than a new chair and it works like it should. Original base had worn out and allowed the chair to have an annoying lean to the side. Like new again.

If your chair made poping sounds replace it with this part. After I replaced on my chair it made world of difference. So quite now. Like a new chair. Make sure you look up mesurements to confirm alinement before you order. This may seem like a waste of time. It is the best way I could think of to ensure the proper fit. Great product. In the future I would like to see a full line of chairs produced with this well built product.

Got one of these to replace the original tilt mechanism that came with my chair (a Vertagear SL5000) after the first one broke within 2 years. Then this one broke within 2 years! I'm well below the weight capacity, about 250 lbs, but I think it's the amount that I use the chair and the posture I have in it sometimes that caused both mechanisms to crack at the front and start to bend forward. Honestly I'd say it's more of a design flaw with the chair itself than this part, because my natural seated position has my center of mass in front of the cylinder instead of directly above it.Thankfully, the seller acknowledged this as regular wear from (heavy) use and sent a free replacement without any hassle when I contacted them, so 5/5 for service! And I should stress, because I work from home and spend most of my free time gaming, I spend a LOT of time in this chair! It would be great to have a rolling chair that can last for years under those conditions, but if you measure by time in use instead of time since purchase then I still feel like I got my money's worth, and the new part went on just fine and is still working perfectly now, a couple weeks after I received it.

Close to 20 years ago I bought a poker table with four chairs at a Home and Garden show. I loved the table and while it doesn't get used all the time it's great for parties. I noticed a few of the chairs weren't sitting right and I discovered this type of mechanism that came on the original chairs was damaged. I ordered these as replacements and they went on easily and function perfectly. There are not a lot of options I could find at this size so I was thrilled these worked so well.

July 2024 - UpdateWhile it was a great replacement fit, product broke after almost 2/years. The metal split and soldered joints started to rip. It says 500/lbs capacity and I’m abojt 5’11” and 200/lbs, so definirely did not live up to specs. My use was likely considered moderate computer use (not light but not heavy either). A stock/new chair lasts longer than this.Original Review 2022:Was the exact replacement for the specified measurements for my broken office chair.Measurement and sizing of holes lined up perfect to chair. I'm not happy nor impressed with this product. I weight around 265+lb 6'2 height and this product advertised that it supports 500lb which as you can tell it doesn't it lasted for about a year in an half and it cracked the material is very weak and cheap the welding job done to this part is horrible also.

Bought this to replace a broken chair mechanism. Getting the press-fit gas cylinder separated from the old chair mechanism can require a bit of "persuasion" (I had good luck just twisting it out with Vice-Grip pliers), but once that was done, installing the new mechanism was easy, and needed only about 5 minutes with a hex wrench to unscrew the old mechanism and screw in the new mechanism. The existing gas cylinder/leg assembly just slips into the new mechanism easily, and you're all set.The SGS mechanism was easy to adjust, provides the right amount of lean-back, and the locking handle works great.Update: Still working great after a year and a half.

This thing lasted about 3 months before the first crack, and babying the chair allowed it to last almost a year after that, but not quite..... more cheap Chinese junk, just keep scrolling.....upgraded the rating as they had me buy another one, then later refunded the cost. The new part is different, and hopefully better, and they did refund the charge for the warranty replacement.
