No dark areas in my garage.
I went so long without a bulb in my garage door opener that I did not realize what I was missing. It works perfectly and provides an excellent amount of light.

It Works
For some reason my garage door opener light wouldn't accept any kind of bulb except for an incandescent; which isn't easy to find, and they just don't last long. Prior to this, I could use CFL (twisty) bulbs; but for some reason those don't work now. The garage repair person said not to use LED because they cause interference. All I know is the light would not turn on with a regular LED. Anyway, after the special shatter resistant bulb they screwed in failed less than 5 months later, I decided to buy this. I think that over $16 for a light bulb is ridiculous, but the thing works. Hopefully it will last as long as it says it will (22 years), which will make it a great value.

When your old incandescent light goes extinct, this one will replace it
After my regular incondesannt bulb exploded, I couldn't find a replacement so I had to buy this one. A lit more expensive, hut its working fine.

Expensive but works and Removes Bulbs as One area of troubleshooting
This bulb is expensive but worth it. If you have a problem with your garage opener the technician will ask if you are using LED bulbs because they do interfere with the garage opener receiving the signal. He won't perform a repair unless you change to these non-interfering bulbs. When my garage opener suddenly stopped working one day, when the technician came he would not proceed until I told him these bulbs were in the garage opener. He wound up replacing my garage opener, and I saved a second service call fee. I asked him to put these bulbs in the new opener.
