Nice kit looks great assembled
Nice little kit. I was a launch officer for this missile system when in the Air Force and decided that I wanted a model of one for my desk. Not difficult, the were three sheets of molds and even though I took my time making it looks really good, it all came together in about 3 weeks. Could be assembled in a day I suspect if you wanted it quickie as it isn't an outwardly complicated system! I, however meticulously filled the cracks between pieces, and applied several coats of paint between light standings to get the final look I desired. This is the D model of the missile, I worked with the F and wished they had made it for that version, the final one. You have to really know them to tell the difference though and this has provided a great memory/memento for my disk in retirement.ps... the paints, filler material and a good set of tools, all necessary for a great look, cost me more than the model itself! They don't mention it in the instructions but weight the stand, otherwise it is too lightweight and can tip/blow over! I filled it with fishing leads and plaster of paris.

Well thought out model, great instructions and perfect fit. A state of the art kit.
This is an excellent model kit !! Well engineered and has a perfect fit if you take the time and don't rush it. No flash on any parts and only ejector pin marks are on the small tail fins which are easily filled. The scribed panel lines are well done and match up perfectly. The recessed rivet detail is excellent and well done. The decals are Microscale and go on beautifully. Takes about 8 to 10 hours to build at max.In the pic I posted most of the parts are NOT glued together the fit is that good !

Classic Revell-type model - cheaper that from the source in Austraila.
Found it on the web for quite a bit more than the Amazon price - and a probably 3 week shipping delay from Austrailia. Found the same kit on Amazon at a lower price and had it in two days! Good Ole Amazon!! Haven't built it yet, but it looks like a classic Revell kit.

Nice kit!... if it survives shipping!
I think the title says everything. I ordered two kits at the same time and they were shipped separately in plastic bags! Both boxes were crushed and torn but thankfully the kit parts were not damaged. The kit parts look nice with engraved panel lines and minimal flash. The seam on the separate, very finely molded LOX pressurization line is barely visible. I recommend the kit but not the shipping packaging!

Towering and Accurate Fun
If anything will get me back into modeling this is it! Big 12" tall super detailed and solid. Great instructions and super great decals. I'll build mine like the ones I used to see get launched at Vandenberg Air Force Base with the Strategic Air Command logo. Now, what can I do for a launch tower?

Great Rendition of Atlas!
Nice model of the Atlas-D missile with an assortment of re-entry vehicles. About a foot high with well molded details and decals with markings which distinguish the mode of its original owners and operators at the time. Easy to assemble. Nice history enclosed of the vehicle. Sits on display with my books on the early space age.

Huh?
Looks like a great kit of a fascinating subject. I give the kit 5 stars at this point. However Amazon get NEGATIVE 5 stars for shipping a fragile model kit in an unpadded plastic bag, resulting in the kit box being crushed and torn.BAD Amazon, bad . No soup for you!

sends broken down box kits. shameful
HORIZON Models sends broken down kit boxes unsuitable for kits or presentation. I would believe Horizon is a bad vendor. now I need to buy the same kit somewhere else. bad
