Overall, a good pot.
I'm pretty pleased with the five-quart dutch oven overall. Caveats: I haven't put it in the oven yet, and I've only used it a couple of times. The good:1) It's light! (The lid is oddly heavy in comparison.) If you hang your pots, don't worry about hanging this one.2) It's really great at even heat distribution. I cooked up a bunch of eggs (eight) and vegetables in it and didn't have to put it in the oven like with a frittata--everything got cooked. I was impressed.3) Cleaning is a snap. So far, the nonstick works. I put it in the dishwasher, and no issues yet.4) It's a nice size if you aren't cooking for a bunch of people. The less good:1) As other reviewers mentioned, the handles get warm. They don't get hot, though, so it's okay. Probably a side effect of being able to put this in the oven.2) It's light, so it does slide around on the burner. I cook on a gas range, not a flat-burnered stove, and it still happens. Stirring without a hand on it isn't likely to work well.

Another great piece to add to my collection.
I used it once already and it performed well. I have lots of Calphalon and love it.

We had used our previous 5qt Calphalon for several years.
We had a previous 5 Qt Calphalon Dutch oven for several years. This has been out go to pan for soups and stews. We just wore it out. We are always careful to use only non-metal spoons. That extends the life of the non-stick surface. The Signature pans are about the same as the Williams Sanoma Calphalon Elite, top of the line. The non-stick surface is harder and more durable than the other Calphalon series. We have used this pan in the oven for slow cooking but usually just cook over our smallest gas burner, low and slow for slow cooker performance. This pan with lid distributes heat very evenly. There is generally no reason to use the pan in an oven.

This is my go to pot now!
I didn't like the price so much but, I like the way food doesn't seem to stick to it like my older pots do. Easy clean up. Even heat distribution. The metal handle on the lid gets hot so pad is a must. But the glass doesn't seem to get that hot. Doesn't scratch up like my other pots did. I also have a skillet too and I like it just as well. Lids fit good. I will get more as I need them. The Signature line is so much better than the other Calphalon products.

Mother n law loves!
Perfect birthday gift, it replaced one that was 30+ years old which speaks for its durability!! Great all round size for soup to one dish meal. Not too heavy, but made of quality material so not super light, and still very easy for her to handle and to clean up.

Calphalon no longer top quality
30 year Calphalon customer. Company sold to Newell a while back, who moved manufacturingto China to increase profit. The labels of levels like Signature are no longer the same quality. Very disappointing.

Calphalon, a Durable Dutch Oven
Calphalon Dutch Ovens, Sautée Pans, Frying pans , are all durable products. Their non scratch surfaces withstand lots of spatula abuse(10years worth). They are a great value for the $$$Recently, i bought a ten piece Calphalon set for a house warming gift. It was for my daughter. Calphalon pans and pots are bullet proof. They are extremely durable.

Now I can cook at 500F in the oven!
When have been longtime owner of nonstick Calphalon and other similar. We did have a generic 5 .qt equivalent that we noticed the nonstick coming off, becoming a health issue. Our new Dutch oven in 4.7 liters/5 .qts. This will serve us well. More and more makers of cookware are going to metal handles. Use stove /oven mitts when handling. We have used it several times and have been very happy using it both on top of the stove and in the oven. This is top quality cookware made with American Steel in Toledo, Ohio.
