Is this lube thick or is it runny ?

The Swiss Navy lube is more runny than thick. But it's a relatively slow run, on the order of just melted coconut oil. It only drips off if too much is applied. Once spread it stays in place and doesn't run unless over-lubricated (which is a good way to measure the "just right" amount). That "just right" amount is considerably less than any water-based lube, so a very little goes a very long way. Better still, reapplicaiton is not going to be needed if using the "just right" amount from the start.

What has changed that this is now $80 vs the $46 I paid in January 2016?

I just checked my Amazon invoice from Sept 2016...I paid $40. $79 is a ripoff, look elsewhere. Walgreen's sells 16 oz for $27 vs Amazon $47. This seller is ripping you off, shop elsewhere for this product.
