Q: does any blade come with this?

Yes mine came with 1 ultra thin cutting blade and a 1/4 inch thick heavy duty makita grinding disk. I use this for my work, it's an amazing upgrade to any corded device. I also love the break and not to mention the Xlock both decrease the amount of time you must have the tool on your hands. Makeing them free for other fun tasks.

Q: Does the grinder have variable speed options?

Automatic Speed Change™ technology adjusts speed and torque during operation for optimum performance. The XAG24 is the model that has a speed adjusting dial. I haven’t used my XAG26 without the speed dial to be sure that the automatic system works well in most situations.
