This watch will stay in my rotation
What can I say? I really enjoy wearing this watch. I have been looking at micro brand watches, but this is a real Russian watch with an actual history of economical design and function. And it keeps excellent time.

My first Automatic and I couldn’t be happier
Looks great, works as intended. If your watch runs too fast or too slow, the accuracy can be regulated really easily without needing to go to a repair shop. I was initially worried that the manual would be in Russian but I was given a short and concise english manual to read over. The only complaint I have was that the strap I got wasn’t the same as the one advertised as seen in my picture, not a fan of this strap. Other than that, this will be my new daily watch from now on (after I get a new strap to replace this one).

Novel Automatic with Russian labeling
I really like this watch. The lettering is fascinating, and the colors and hands are gorgeous. It keeps pretty good time too. I think they kept cost down by using an 'organic' material for the face, which makes me nervous about scratching it. The one part that makes no sense to me is the dive bezel, which turns in both directions; apparently that was a property of early dive watches. It does have a little bit of friction to it, so I guess they assume that it's unlikely to get jarred out of position.

Basic Eastern Block Watch...
I need to preface this that I do collect watches and I prefer automatic watches. This is the most bare bones packaging I have ever seen with a watch. A cardboard box, a little bit of foam and instructions in English and in Russian. The watch itself doesn't feel robust. The case and bezel are highly polished so I'm afraid they'll scratch quickly but that's just fine. Speaking of the bezel, it turns way too easily and in both directions without any ratcheting. Setting the watch gave me a bit of a fright. Like most water resistant watches you unscrew the crown and pull out one or two positions. Position two or first notch out is winding the watch. This was really sketchy. Once the crown was unwound the crown stem was floating around like it was loose. I was careful and slowly winded the watch. Secondly I pulled out the stem one more notch to adjust the time. It felt even looser. This is a non-hacking watch so the second hand doesn't stop it always keeps running so it is very unlikely that you can set it to less than a few seconds from internet time. I've got the neoprene band it's 18 mm wide and it seems to feel comfortable enough. I think this watch is more of a conversation piece than a precision timepiece but only time will tell. The only time this watch will get wet is if it's raining. I think I'll give it to my daughter as some sort of retro accessory item.
