This fit my Mahindra 4050 perfectly. Beware even if you add diesel in the filter before reinstalling, the tractor will be difficult to start. There is a small round hand pump on top of the filter. It can be pushed down and will return. It needs to be pumped for 5-15 minutes while intermittently trying to start. After a while the hand pump will not return and has to be pulled up and then pushed down again to continue pumping. I suggest you charge the battery as it will take a lot of cranking to get everything primed.

Replaced mahinfra 4550 fuel filters. Worked fine.

Perfect fit on my 4540. Oem BOSCH brand that came on the tractor from the factory. The water sensor on the base threads in perfectly. Be sure to keep the small rubber washer that goes between the filter and sensor. Mine was stuck to the filter and i almost threw it out. The new filter did not come with an extra one. You could remove and use the one thats on the plastic plug i suppose but its not as thick as the oem.
