Not sure why Blackmagic didn’t put a power switch on their recorders, but this is a great solution. Allows us to do a power cycle without unplugging and shut it down overnight as well. Really simple, but really useful.

Using this product for a guitar pedalboard seems to be a common theme in these reviews, and I'm no exception. It works great, just as I expected, and seems pretty durable so far. It's a much better option to have a switch than having to unplug the whole thing from an outlet, as my power supply doesn't have an on/off switch.And, as noted in the 1 & 2-star reviews, this is not for a standard plug connection like what you'd plug directly into a wall outlet (though I think that's pretty obvious from the images and the product name and description).

Appears to be made well and has worked well for me switching off "line-lump" / "power brick" transformers I used for some of my medium to low wattage music synthesizers and guitar pedal boards etc. The only nitpick I can think of is that it would be nice if the cable was a little less stiff?Note that only the hot line is switched, the neutral and ground lines are always connected.I'm posting macro shots of the components to help those interested in the specific tolerances and certifications of the components used.

I put this on my monitor to have a "real" off switch. I purchased a very expensive monitor, and when I'm away for days at a time, it is nice to have a physical switch to turn off the monitor. Monitors have built-in power supplies and are always working, so this gives the monitor a break (and if you paid a lot for it, this could save you from replacing it so soon). :)

Does exactly what you think it does, adds an external power switch to any plug that will fit it. Feels sturdy.

I bought this adapter for my switch that didn't have a on of switch. It is serving that purpose very well.

These things are flea market junk. If you purchase one of these, all I can is Rotsa Ruck to ya fella.

I received a small device for stamps - unfortuantely there is no on/off switch - we were recommended to turn it off almost daily as there can be LCD burn issues, but without a power switch it was pull the plug or reach under the desk for the socket every time.This cable has completely solved the problem, while I may ahve wanted something a little shorter, 30cm is not too long especially as the cable I use it with is 1.2m - so no real increase I felt. we can now turn on and off very easily and I will consider this for other small electrical items that have no power switch (printer).
