What's the difference between the 38001 and 38006

From a separate website the diameters 38001 is ~ 3.58” and the 38006 is ~ 3”. Other dimensions are the same. Need to look at mfgr specs.

will any of these idler pulleys work on my 1979 lincoln continnental mark 5 400 engine

I may be wrong but I believe in 1979 they used V-Belts and these idler pulleys are for serpentine Belts 5455-09056246 this is the part number for an idler closer to what your looking for. Check on parts geek website. If the pulley is still in good condition you can press a new bearing into it. Bearing numbers are printed/stamped on the outside of the bearing and are easily sourced on amazon. It’s usually a bearing number like 203. You can also measure the bearings diameter, thickness and center hole dimension to get the correct bearing.
