EVERPRIDE Knife Guard Protector Set of Two 10 Inch long Sheaths

These are excellent. Sturdy, felt lined, true to description. Very pleased.

These edge guards are thin and light but sturdy (ABS?) with a pebble grain exterior and flocked lining. The top edge could have been finished better or cut cleaner; there are some burrs and plastic shavings but barely worth mentioning. I recently purchased a 12" Mac knife for breaking down large fish and wanted an edge guard. I researched edge guards as no saya is available for the Mac. I decided on this Everpride because the size was perfect, 1/2" longer than the blade and wide enough for full coverage. All my other Japanese knives have wooden saya so I am used to a secure fit, and the taco style of these guards was not comforting. The blade of my Mac knife is very thin and a flick of the knife sends the guard flying. The flock lining is nice but also reduces friction and I wanted a more secure fit. I modded the guard with a 3/8" notch that receives the handle. 3/8" was the deepest I could go without risking the tip protruding from the end. The notch prevents the handle from being lifted straight up, however the tip could still swing up. I then drilled a small hole and bolted the two front halves of the guard together (#4-40 X 1/4"), preventing the tip from swinging straight up. Now the blade cannot be removed from the guard without retracting it until the handle leaves the notch. Removing the guard takes a deliberate effort and I am quite happy with the result. It would be nice if you could purchase these individually, but I am sure I will eventually find another knife for the second guard. At 12 1/2" long you could even make 2 custom guards for a smaller knife and a paring. The plastic is difficult to cut with a knife but easy with a scroll, coping, or hacksaw. Cut edges clean up easily with a file or sanding. 5 stars for being exactly what I needed and perfect for my specific knife.

I like that they fit into the knife bag we use. I did need to change the width of the pre-sewn pockets to accommodate the shields, but it's definitely worth having them in place to protect against cuts from the exposed blades.

Well made. Fits my 12 inch chef’s knife and is lined to protect the blade from scratches. Fair price. Will fit 12 inch carving knives as well.

Its not a bad product but not 10 inches. i dont want to totally rip this product because they are nice sheafs but I had two knives one 8" and the other 9" and neither of them fit on both knives. the blade stuck out from the guard even when pushed all the way in. They were nice but the purpose was to conceal the cutting edge which these did not.

I really appreciate that these are slim, and yet still seem very sturdy. The sleeve grips the knife so it doesn't fall out. I didn't rate durability because I haven't had them long enough to make a determination, however I am really pleased with them.

Fit nicely, very thick. They hold onto the knife well. If you have a half bolster on your knife you will have to trim the sleeve for proper fit. I did this with ease with kitchen sheers.
